Thanks!!!

Payton,

Ya, God has really blessed my life. The wife supports the hobby (well most of the time). We are all healthy. The kid's like to help dad work on the heli's. Life is great. Can't wait till Brandon (my son) is big enough to fly with me.

I want to make the mod's to the Falcon, even before I fly it for the first time. I would like for it to fly as close to the Extreme as I can make it, and I know these mod's you have come up with, will help it out alot.

Raptor mod parts fit perfectly!!!

Boy, GR8 lakes get's parts to you quickly. Got the Raptor tail rotor parts today and just put them on the Falcon. It looks terrrrrrrrrrrrific. The larger blade grips are cool. I like the idea of having 60 size parts on the 50 heli. I cranked up the 401 to 100 on the limit now to get max throw from the pitch slider. NO BINDING OR SCRAPING POSSIBLE NOW. Can't wait to fly it. Thanks again Payton!!!!!!!!!

I love it!!

GForce and all,
Glad to be of help. I got a new R60 aluminum pitch fork in red and it looks very nice. People seem to be breaking the R60 plastic on the Raptor 60 but I haven't yet. Although, people used to say to get a one piece hub for the R30 tail so you don't throw a tail blade and I just thought they were upgrade freaks. Guess what, threw a tailblade. So, I though it might be a good idea to get the aluminum R60 pitch fork from GR8LakesRC. Steve is a good guy.

So, I put all the tail components on my R60 back on the R60 and have the new stuff on the Falcon. I have GOT to get you guys some pics of this setup.

Pictures of my mod

Lift,

I finally got around to taking my heli to work, and taking pictures of the "new hole location in tail grip mod." I was somewhat annoyed that someone used the tail deficiency of the Hawk/Falcon as ammo as to why it's inferior to a Raptor... duh.

Here are the results:

A clear picture of what I did.

Full left rudder.

Full right rudder.

Full right rudder, not sure why I took this picture. It shows that it will no longer bind even if you don't have proper setup control throws on your gyro!

If you look at the last picture and the 2nd to the last picture,

You'll see that the slider arm is straight in line with the ball-link and with the center of the grip bolt. It won't go any further than that no matter what you do! Even w/out the spacer, it won't budge further from that point.

Actually, the part I'm impressed about, is look how much throws you got now!!!

Btw, I use a CSM540 gyro.

Actually the best part of this mod is that it cost $0.00.

Yeah, Frank Heli got bashed up again .

So do I understand it properly?????

That all you did was move the ball to the middle?? I'm assuming you had to drill a little hole to do that???

IS THAT IT????

DRILLED a new hole in the triple BB blade grips

Jimmyhua, thank you for the inexpensive idea.

Some question:

Has you fly your heli with this new set up???
Do you still need to set some limits ATV for flying??? What I mean is there is to much pitch now???

Do you fill the other holes in the grip with some glue??? Or just open a new hole between the two holes and thats it???

The pictures of the new hole are not clear because there is not enough
light. Could it be possible that you take a new one with more light?

Thank you.

yes, all I did was drill a new little hole.

Now that I have the pictures in front of me, I am wondering if it will solve Lift's problem, as the max full left rudder throw is still exactly the same as the old original setup How'd that happen???

The hover point changes alot, and it's closer to dead center 12 degrees pitch. So I think he should be able to get more out of his 401 gyro.

Yes, I hacked up my new heli real good, it's made up of a whole bunch of bastardized parts. Franken Heli! I have yet see how it flies, hovers real smooth though, even with training gear on!! Living in middle of nowhere truly sucks. My credit cards just charged me $20 dollar late fee, cuz the bill arrived here late! Hmmm.

Hawk/Falcon/Raven tail

The Century rep in our club uses the JR Ergo 30 fork .............. I will see if I can get a picture of it when I see him at the field next time.

I had the same set up on mine until I damaged the tail in a hard landing ... Century have changed the bell crank lever and ball /pin attachment to the slider but they really need to change the design of the fork to improve the efficiency of the tail system.

Pictures?

Hey Alexander err Stephen,

e-mail me the picts, and I can post them. Err or better yet,
send the picts to voclain and have him post them.

I have more or or less a rogue website running off my cable modem. It may not last too long .

I'll real interested in what you did. I'm not interested in pinwheels or sideways loops. But I'd like to be able to do piro-etting loops, both ways.
