Engines Plugs Mufflers Fuel > Ring Replacement?

Hey guys,
I was just wondering how often ya'll replaced the rings in the ringed engines?

Part two would be do you just replace the ring or the ring and the liner? What should the end gap be on a new ring? How do you know if your old ring is bad? How do you know if your old liner is bad?

I've got a OS91 with about 30 gallons through her and was just wondering. 20 bucks for a new ring doesn't seem to bad to pep her up a bit.

In the racing circuit I know folks change their rings all the time with maybe just a honing of the cylinder walls so it just got me thinking.

Thanks for your inputs.

If it ain't broke don't fix it. If the engine has a good compression "bump" when turned by hand it's "good" enough. Unfortunately the new rings don not come "oversize" so that you could adjust the end gap. (The anti rotation pin prevents that from being viable) so whatever gap you have that what you get. A new ring piston and cylinder would fully renew the engine but I don't think it is required for a long long time.
