Is it possible to do autorotation with Trex-Stretch Kit-Align Carbon Blades? That's my setup including Mega 1615/3-13T pinion, CC35, TP GenII 2100, GY-401...

I would like to practice the on my Rex before attempting on my Glow!

Haha! Funny indeed

I would say not tho. These things auto HORRIBLY, even all the models i have for REXFLEX XTR wont auto Including the XL with stretch kit.

Ahwell Try it. Order your crash kit upfront tho

rot8, just wanted to let you know if you caught my thread, http://www.runryder.com/helicopter/t157642p1 that the pilot, "Gil" was actually doing some autorotation tests on the rex (he's a very experienced pilot actually) which we caught on the last 1/2 segment of his flight video seen on the above thread. he was using the throttle hold to see if it could produce enough lift.

finally, after much practice and a couple weekends after. he was able to auto the rex multiple times in front of us to our astonishment. his setup was with a standard rex (align 400L/tp2100s). edit: these successful attempts were not caught on film. (so i must be lying!)

it will auto but it is true....is not great. I had my voltage cutoff too high and lost power and had no choice. it looked like I was landing a beach ball. but no damage luckily. I have not had to try the scale yet.

Maybe some weighted blades would help out? My Eco 8 had quite a bit more rotor inertia than the T-Rex does. I'm sure some of this is the size of the heli but I think the main problem lies in the added friction from the tail rotor being driven the entire time the main is being driven.

Some wrong with your setup - I can auto most of the models in XTR

You misunderstood or i wasnt clear. I was speaking specifically of the TREX models in XTR only. Of course almost all the other CP helis in XTR auto fine. We are just talking about the Trex models here

That sounds right

I have the TREX model from RC-Sim - it does not really work correctly, on take off it piroed madly

the tail rotor was not designated as a tail rotor in RMK, I spent an hour fixing that. I also scaled it down, and fixed a few settings (like tail rotor taking more power than the heli had in total!)

So now I can take off and even fly around

but if you hover and do a slow piro the heli moves laterally

Sigh, so I just fly the real TREX...
