e-Align T-REX 250-450-500-600 > Anyone got Align carbons to track spot on?

Has anyone got their Align carbons to track correctly?. I can get mine new ones 1/4 inch up or down, but not spot on. Tried course and fine adjustments, but they won't track. They are perfectly balanced. Anyone got any idea's.

The faster the headspeed, the more they go out of track.

Is the balance point the same distance from root of the blades? They need to balance at the same point. try this on the edge of a table. and then balance them against each other to make sure that they are the same weight. Balancer..etc... By doing this, they should both creat equal amounts of lift. Hopefully you can get them to see eye to eye!!

I had this problem as well. It was not the blades! I took the bearings out of the grips and found that I had installed one of them backwards from the others. I out them back in and with one turn of the long pitch rod they are tracking perfect. I think this has something to do with the bearing races.

Is it actually possible to install the bearings on backwards I dont see how? In desparation I will try it tonight regardless though.

I had the same problem and was bashing my head against the wall. Tried 2 sets of the Align carbons with no luck, until I made new head dampning for mine, now they run spot on. What I did was make the holes in the head block abit deeper to allow you to insert another o-ring each side. So now the head has 4 o-rings instead of 2, then I got one of the brass blade bushes out the woodies and put that on the spindle shaft between the head dampners and the grips along with a washer to push against the o-rings and hey presto, perfect tracking and better cyclic response. If you don't have any washers that fit, get the original plastic bush and cut off 1mm washers from that. Its does the same job.

It would seem the soft dampning is ok for the woodies, but the carbons being heavier needs the harder dampning.

It's that the races in the bearings allow more slop in one direction than in the other. I have had this happen in three different helis(raptor30, H2, T-rex) most with (ahem) cheaper bearings. I have just put the bearings in facing the same way in both grips and the problem is solved. I know it sounds dorky but its TRUE!

RIght I just tried boring out the head to fit two O rings, it not really helped. Im using one set of Zoom firm O rings and one set of the origionals, oviously one on each side.

Now Im gonna start looking at the bearings thanks for the idea mate, I might invest in some decent sealed ones,

you must compress the o-rings or the mod don't work! I originally added the extra o-rings in each side but no difference, added the brass spacer and a washer pushing against the o-rings and it works great.

Hope this info helps
