| here ya go. I gave it about 4-6 clear coats total, sanding between them, except for the last 3. Finally done with it. ripped off all that masking after, hmm, 4 months?? good. from a close up it looks badly done, but I wan't planning on doing it for display. It looks fine from farther away, like when flying, as shown in the pics... you can't see most if any flaws. Well, here it is, my "new" shuttle. Now with the canopy on, I think it looks so good I no longer want a scale fuselage!!!!
In this picture I trimmed a bit around where the aileron links meet the canopy:
When I was putting the fan on, some of you were saying how messy everything is. I took the fan set (fan, batt, switch) off, put all my wires into a nice bundle up front, and the annoying charge cord - which was dangling free - made a small wire holder for it at the bottom of the frame just to the right of the fuel filter. Currently the gyro is gone under warranty repair. i will be testing to see if the fan actually helped. If it did, I'll figure out a different placement for it.
The canopy was painted with regular spray paint and clear spray... So what do you guys think?
edit: in case you are wondering, these pics were being taken in the kitchen, which has the best lighting. Our kitchen is being remodeled, so all the nice plywood you see will be covered by slabs of beautiful granite.
