wierd... today.. after refueling for the third and final time for the day.. I fired the heli up and what a strange noise it made.... Shutdown ASAP... and looked at the other side... I noticed the muffler was swinging in the breeze.. closer inspection revealed the 3 mm threads inside one of the muffler flanges stripped clean/// I would say due to some vibration I guess... So///// has anyone had any experience re-threading these tiny wonders??? for now I just used the bolt and cap nut... should I just quit writing and worrying and get out and burn more fuel???
thanks

depending on the specific muffler, I've
either used a steel threaded insert (HeliCoil
or Re-Nu) or just drilled out the hole a little bit and
used a longer bolt w/ a locknut or double nut.

YEP! Have not even bothered with the threaded holes after my first one stripped. Just do as you did. Check it before every flight and if they work loose put new nylocks on.
Works just fine on all my ships.

Locktite makes a thread repair goop. Or you could use JBWeld (not the quick) put some into the hole and thread it after it has hardened.

After pulling out of hot car: hover, power off all. power on . check mix, hover and surprise yourself.

Jason,

Go with a longer bolt and then a nut on the back side.

Nut

Vilkul is correct 100%
longer bolt, self locking nut, thats it.
before i would verify if you dont have special vibrations, because if so, other items will start falling apart.

one more idea

after you put nut on.. get it running.. stop the engine.. and resnug the nut and bolt.
