... So you're flying along fat dumb and happy and your glow plug quits in flight...... Does the engine die?? or would you not know it untill next engine start??? thanks

BTW, I havn't heard from those fuel dealers so I am going to assume it's a no go from them.

Depends what you mean by "quits." As a plug wears out, it gets more and more difficult to start the engine. If the element breaks and goes out the exhaust pipe, the engine quits running. That happened to my Futura's OS 61sx last fall and the results were quite messy.

Smart people replace the plug when removing the glow igniter causes the engine to idle more slowly and/or roughly then with the igniter connected. Least season I was being lazy, not smart. That was expensive!
