| From my limited understanding, SS is reasonably straightforward when you're driving cars around a track. It gets a lot more interesting when you have airborne models much higher and further out. Futaba looked at the technology extensively before deciding to go with RF for the MZ. The amount of R&D money it was going to require to make it work and to get it cleared for use in all nations importing the radios was too much for this generation of transmitter. JR might have something cooking in their wings for airborne SS, but I would be a little surprised to see it any time really soon (as in within a year or so).
