The carbon fibers are impregnated with a solid high temperature pre-preg resin. What you do with CA is just give a coat of clear to the edge. There is no CA going into the carbon simply because there is no empty space to be filled so no need for sealing is required.

Sanding the sharp edges around areas where wires go to prevent chafing is always a good practice and strongly recomended.

I used to do the CA trick to my rc cars back when I did rc cars. I have never done it to a heli.

I've sanded for ages but never sealed for the reasons that Augusto described. I've not had any problem with oil seepage into carbon frames on any model that I've built since the first one way back in 1992.

I HAVE seen one set of crappy quality frames delaminate and oil seep, but that was pretty much a "zebra" problem.

Hi:

Well, I would then use the thin CA I bought to repair carbon parts when needed to .

Thanks for the technical info about carbon.

Delta spacer on the outer ball. Inner ball is for when you use it in a trailing edge configuration.

Rudder servo arm, for a Futaba on the outermost circle of the large servo wheel. Check page 29 of the manual for a picture of how it's supposed to go.

Throttle the same as your carb's distance to center check also page 29 for that one.

Finally flew

Yesterday I was finally able to get to the field get 2 flights on the new Avant.

The new OS 91 C Spec PS is running rich so performance was not to be expected.

The pitch response is amazing. Breath on the pitch and the Avant reacts. Very cool. In the air the Avant tracks very well. It was a bit windy so it was hard to check to see if the CCPM was set correctly, I think I may need to lower the front swash 1-2 points.

The low weight helps the Avant auto very well.

I did some loops and rolls and I was pleased to see how well it tracked.

I didn't get into any flips or any 3D as the engine is just to rich at the moment.

Once I get this all finally set to the 9ZWCII, I will switch it over to my new 14MZ.

No need to despair. There have been some delays but as you see people are getting their helis. Just a bit more patience and you'll get your shipment.
The parts support is not an issue because the parts are all in stock and that stock is separate and apart and not available for kit manufacturing.

Interesting that the swash plate moves down to increase pitch. Curtis Y. is doing this on his Vibe (he flipped the blade holders too). He says that he's testing this configuration because it is adding some additional snap to his maneuveres.

If you've seen him fly recently, he's flying much more aggressively though I'm not sure he needs more snap!

Chris,

Do you have a picture of the Vibe head with the flipped grips? I would be curious to see that. I didn't see flipped grips the last time I saw Curtis in Vegas.
Here's a picture of his vibe at Vegas.
