I spent 30 minutes trying to set tracking on my trex and I just cant get it ,I know my spindle is not bent because I havnt crashed ,i made 1 blade my main and marked it and only adjusted that blade then I started to adjust both blades but still it wont track even,,Do you guys think I am a half a turn out and turnin the whole turn is makin it impossible? any advice from you super intelligent people?

If the tracking is out on only one side then check your paddles and make sure they are aligned.

If your using the plastic ABS blades, they are hard to track or will never track right. Mines used to track perfect until i fogot to use the blade holder while storing my heli. I guess the blades got bent over the period if time. Then i switched to the extra woodies and got perfect tracking.

Sometimes I have found if your off by less than one turn you must do 1/2 turns. You might opt then to purchase a higher quality link like the rocket city links (ricks has them) I dont know it you can get them small enough but they can go either way safely. Also they sell reverse threaded rods that you could use between these links. Reverse threading will allow you to turn the link rod it self, (it has a hex shape) and get less than 1/2 turn on it.

I know it works with standard raptor links and the balls on the raptor are the same as the Trex I've read.

I had problems tracking my wooden blades even. Well, here is my version of the fix:

For every ball bearing at your main rotor, you should place a washer being it. This way, you can tighten you screw, and your parts will still be moving perfectly. There must not be any 'slop' or loose moving parts, this can be achieved again by placing washers, thin ones.

Half turn adjustments work fine. Can you get it close by adjusting the short link that goes directly to the blade grips? If so, have you tried adjusting the other link (the longer one that goes from the mixer on the flybar carrier down to the swashplate)? That link makes very fine adjustment possible.

Simmer, do you have a link (a web address that is) to ricks for the, er, links?

I agree the ABS blades don't seem to want to track, period. Also, if you're stuck trying to get small link adjustments make sure you're adjusting the lower linkage below the mixing arm, not the top one connected to the blade itself - that one will make larger adjustments per turn.

Swash ploblems

Hi,
I had a similar problem. At first, my ABs and Wooden blades were tracked right, then it started going wrong very slowly. It was, in fat, the swash palte starting to separate very slowly. It was very hard to notice at first, until I took the rotor head appart.
