I am just wondering how many people are using a separate BEC other then their ESC BEC. For those who did install a BEC was for proactive reasons or was it because you found a issue, also please list your electronics setup. I have been having a issue where I loose my tail from the Gyro only I still have input from the TX.

My Trex Setup:
CC35
Mega 15/15/3
4 hitech HS 56 Servo's
Ferrite Ring
Berg 6ch RX Version 3
TP Gen2 3S-2100mah 10-12C Lipo Pack

Good question mcoccia.
Except for my little micro CCPM hornets and an FP Corona, I put BEC's on everything else.
If you read the spec for the ESC's 4 servos is pushing it if you run higher voltage Lipo packs and add a receiver and gyro. In my T-Rex I put an SBEC to save weight - weight penalty is nil as it is really tiny.
Having separate BEC also helps when you have to troubleshoot glitching.

You might get away with 4 servos and 3S lipos with that ESC but HS-56s are putting you close to your limit - you'd be safer with the smaller servos like HS-50 so to play it safe consider an SBEC - then if you want to go to higher voltage you will be well positioned.
I used the firmtronics SBEC. Just cut the switch off at the board - it's useless.

They seem to be out of stock at a lot of places though - I had to really hunt to find one.
