These are the improvements on the latest kits:

1. Wood blades now come with plastic root reenforcements. Should solve the tracking issues some people had.

2. Swashplate inner section is now metal like the raptor kits.

3. Landing gear struts have attach points for the antennae.

4. Flybar lever inserts are now made of brass. Should resist stripping.

5. Main shaft is solid and hardened.

6. Ball links are again gray but of higher tolerance and quality.

7. The frames are serial numbered (I'm not sure why?).

8. Overall quality of the plastic molding is much improved. A lot of the mold flask are gone.

I also have the new Align motor with the cooling fan. I'll let everybody know how much cooler it runs compared to the earlier ones.

One thing though. I don't think the blade grips are the main cause of any tracking problems. It has different sources, but this has been discussed many times already. I suggest doing a search if anyone has tracking issues. The new plastic blade roots are better for the blades but won't do too much for better tracking.

This is NOT the most current kit

BTW this thread is way off! The newest kits even have CF blades, so your kit is not THE newest!! I have no idea what version to call these, but Wes has them at www.modefosheli.com

Newest kits come with Align 325 mm CF blades?
Is the boom the same length or is the stretch version now standard?

The version stuff just isn't worth counting guys, there are changes almost daily (and then are some changes are reversed). Some batch of kits have been sold with variations between them; a store can order 25 T-Rexs and get 3 different types of kits! This is one of the reasons why I stopped working with Align, its a dis-organised mess.

I'd prefer to have the 450X, refine it and release a new version, Align would rather have customers test changes (at the customer's expense) and fix the issues as they get complaints. There is next to no in-house testing of changes, the new swash for example, this could have been great but they are going to take 3 goes to get it right like always. Sometimes I'd get parts to test and by the time they got here, they were either already being sold or scrapped.

I told you about this new version about a month ago (search my posts), offcially, its V2 and at the time was meant to include the carbons. Seems that some do and some don't. No idea anymore, that could have changed, dealing with Align is frustrating like you would not believe. They are a good company and want to offer a good heli at a good price, they are just making a few mistakes that could easily be avoided if they would only test their product a little more instead of the "rush it out of the door" attitude.

I'd avoid rushing to get the latest Align stuff, especially the new upgrades that are comming out soon unless you want to be a beta tester at your own expense. The Asian testers seem to just give postive feedback on everything Maybe look at Align stuff like Microsoft software, by version 3 it going to be OK.

Not knocking Align at all - just telling it how I see it and maybe it might stop people feeling hard done by when their latest shinny upgrade doesn't turn out to be an upgrade at all.

Dnam,

Before you make comments like "way off", allow me to ask a couple of questions. Do you the new kit? Have you seen the new kit? By the way I have the latest kit (latest shipment from Taiwan). And yes I have the carbon blades. However, they were not part of the kit? But for 20 bucks a set I can't complain. So before you make a rebuttal about somebody's post make sure you got your ducks in a row!

I have a friend who has stock. Also see Dankers' above post. There is no such thing is V3 T-rex.

I am not trying to flame you at all, I don't know why you are offended. If you are offended, please take my appologies! I just wanted to state your kit is not V3. Great thing Dankers wrote the long post above as it saves me a lot of typing.

In my opinion it really doesn't matter which set you end up with. If you want to buy, buy now and don't wait for kits with newer parts, because there will always be a newer one. I don't mind Align doing this sort of fast product change. The prices are very low so it is very easy to upgrade. If the prices were higher I would be on the same opinion as Dankers though.
