I'd like to know why there is a tricked out metal fan for an entry level kit like the hawk, but there is no such item for the predators wad-up-with-dat?

I called and talked to Antonio, and he said no retail pre- orders yet, only distributors.
Oh well, I will still grab one as soon as I can.

Grrr. Wish I would have known about this. To upgrade my Hawk Sport to the Pro would take at least $100. I would have definitely paid the extra $40 for the Pro kit instead of the Sport.

Scale Kits??

Hawk Pro...WOW... and I am just NOW building a Hawk Sport.

Anyone think is would it be possible for the Hawk Pro Mechanics to be included in any of the Century Scale kits in the near future?? i.e. Bell222?? Twinstar??

Maybe I will wait and see...?

And look... a new color box to boot!!

Ok,now,i certainly WILL be buying this.

I think now the Raptor may have some strong competition now.

Although,i would put a O.S 37 in it though

It sure looks good. Having a Hawk III I just sold, I really like them.

But why on earth don't they:

include the anti rotation bracket, and

move the front skid mount forward to make motor removal easier.

I also fly a Caliber 30, and it is soooo easy to work on.

just a thought.

Bill

I may not be able to turn a kit into a plane, but I can turn a plane into a kit...

Kinda looks like a different set of tail blades too. The stock Hawk blades suck big time.

In looking at the options I notice that 3 of them come as standard on my Raven (all except the metal fan which I ordered anyway). If those items are ordered it drives the price up BUT, I suspect they aren't really needed that much when you are starting out.

The only thing I'm not sure about is the "Raven cooling fan shroud". On my Raven the shround only comes to the top of the engine, doesn't go all the way around so air flow can go anywhere. With my Hawk Sport the head is encased by the shroud so air has to go over the whole head. I'm a bit concerned about over heating on my Raven but I haven't seen any reports on it and I know folks who fly them without a problem so maybe I'm just being a bit paranoid (that's 2 noids).

As someone else said, if I bang it into the ground too hard again I'll get the Hawk Pro instead of another Sport. I've now got 1 3/4 Hawk Sports, I keep thinking of getting the parts to make it 2 BUT, when I price it out, comes to over $100 so a new kit is far better value. Hopefully if I bang it in again it'll be tail first instead of nose first.

I am a big Century fan and have been for a number of years now.

But I was very disappointed in how they mislead us with the Hummingbird 3D Pro release date. It was supposed to be out before Christmas (I wanted one under my Christmas tree ) and look, it still is not available!! Looks like it will be more then two months late from when they said it would be available.

I just hope the same does not occur with this super looking Hawk Pro. Like arrival in two months (April/May?)

My Raven 30 is a super little beast with the OS37, this Hawk Pro should also prove a treat. The main reason I went to the Raven was for the tighter damping that the 6mm spindle arrangement in the Raven head provides. I hope they have done something similar here to tighten up the damping of this Hawk Pro head. That would make it a real good 3D'er, specially when added to the stainless steel torque tube drive...and all still $80.00 less then the Rappy30 or Sceado --- WOW!!

The head looks the same as the Hawk Sport. I'm actually surprised they have not moved the Sport to a 6mm feathering shaft yet, it seems like that would be one less part they would have to stock.

Too bad it doesn't come with all the upgrades shown, that would be really sweet.

Please note in the description specs:
"6mm tube spacer insert for tighter rubber dampener"

They maybe should have said:
"6mm insert to tighten the damping"

This should satisfy your requests. Not just that, but hopefully, they will make the insert available as a seperate inexpensive upgrade part for those with the Hawk Sports. This would be a simple and a lot less expensive way to upgrade the Sport for the desired damping then having to change to the CN2221 system of the Ravens and Falcon SE's.

Not adding the anti-rotation bracket was a mistake, in my opinion.

I wonder how many Hawk Pros will be out there without them...
