Hi,

I just happen to have $2200 to spare and contemplating to buy a Futaba 14 MZ. What would you do if you were in my shoes? I need your opinion. Thanks.

buy it! It will help you fly better

I don't know about you guy's, but I don't have an extra $2200 laying around - but I'm still gonna get one! Come on! Windows CE and a color screen! Awesome!!!! The Compact Flash thing looks really cool too!

Sweetness!

This hobby is like Kryptonite to chicks!

The only benefit I see is it has a faster processor which may be nice for eCCPM in improving resolution. However, I don't know if I could tell a difference though. I personally would rather spend $2200 on fuel & spare parts.

I would buy a turbine engine instead of that blue screen of death.

No.. Since I'd need $4400.. One for use in Europe, and one for use in the US..

Daftest thing Futaba has done to date in my opinion with this region-locking...

Why buy a $2200 dollar radio? There are alot of very good radios at half to a quarter of the price. Unless you need 14 channels.

Ummm, lets see, if I had $2200.

1) Predator Gasser SE.
2) Some planks and engines (a nice warbird with functioning bomb drops).
3) Camera setup for the Predator Gasser.
4) A trip to Las Vegas to learn to fly.
5) A cruise in the Mediterranean.
6) Hotel and Living as I tour the US and Canada on my Gold Wing.
7) Pay down some debt.
8) A scale 60 size bird.
9) Nice gift for the wife.
10) A Futaba 14MZ and I'm not sure it even comes in here.

A) I don't have any current requirement for 14 channels, don't even use the 9 on my 9CHP.
B) I like the flashy screen but, way too many bucks and I can get a lot of nice things on the 9ZHP.

Maybe if it drops to the price of the 9Z. OH and Futaba would also HAVE to work in both positive and negative shift so I can run my Airtronics receivers OK.

Got Money? Send it to me, I'm a Heli Addict.

Ted Toth: No, not really.. I'll just need _two_ 14MZs, since they're locked to their individual region.. I cant just swap a module in one I buy here and then be able to use it in the US, since its "locked".

If I had the $2200 spare I would most definately get one just to annoy everyone else on here who would be telling me not to buy one, and for their reasons they are giving

I got enough helis, and other heli related stuff, and I would think of no other better way to spend the $2200 on

...Go for it

Maybe if I had a lot more money to spare than $2200 I would. They'd have to re-engineer the carrying case to make angel/heaven sounds with a blinding bright light every time I opened it tho

$2200 for a Futaba MZ with 14 Channels?

NO

I will wait (maybe forever) for Futaba to come out with their "9MZ" at hopefully half the cost of a 14mz. I like the higher resolution but do not need 14 channels.

I, for one, will loose respect for anyone that shows up the the field with one of those TX. All flash, no substance.

Buy a 9303 and donate $1700 to some group that needs it, will make you a better person.
