I bought one of these to see what the fuss was all about. What a mistake. I was thoughroughly dissapointed in the quality of parts or i should say lack there of...I didnt get all of the parts that were supposed to come with the kit so we all know that makes an unhappy builder at the bench. As soon as i noticed i called and they were friendly, said they would ship the parts immediately. 2 weeks later and i just recieved it. It only weighed 1 lb...cmon they could have at least sent it three day delivery. Most of the parts had some defect. The instructions were really ****ty and didnt even show some things so of course i had to be resourceful and use guess work. I installed my electronics and this is where it went from worse to worser....i lost my temper and used a BFH to work out the kinks....lol this is the worst model i have ever built/ seen. After all was said and done i threw the remains in the garbage and considered this heli a loss....didnt save one piece of it. I wanted nothing off of it...it ended up where all quicks belong. I think it is only fair to state my unhappiness on here and simply warn all that the all metal heli is a pile....Thx

I occasionally resolve issues with a BFT (b-f Torch) but have been known to use hammers. In any case, I always document the intentional rekitting process with photos or video. The entertainment and amusement you provide for others justifies the destruction and financial losses. Well, except when I burned my HPI Savage .21 nitro truck. The bandwidth bill for the first week I had the video posted was $93.00! I didn't leave it up for a second week!! Still, it was worth it to get the word out. And they did fix most of the issues with the release of the .25 shortly thereafter.

You actually threw away a heli???? Wow, that's a new one. You should try contacting Quick Heli to resolve the issue before the trash man comes, all problems can be fixed.

Well, I've flown a Q30 with a .50 engine in it for over 12 gallons of fuel, and had only 1 problem with one of the tail shaft bearings. Now, I'm not going to sit here and say that it is the greatest heli ever made, but I don't think it is junk. Also, I have some friends that had some problems with their Quicks, but not to the extent that was stated here. Now I can't say that I know about their intense 3d ability, because I'm not I guess what you would call a stick banging 3d pilot. The heli will perform loops, rolls, inverted, flips, and all other aeros that I am capable of without hitch or problem at all. The only upgrade I have done with mine is replacing the plastic blade grips with metal ones.

Also there are other sources for Japanese Quick helis that are imported straight from Japan.

Actually a friend of mine had a Quick 60 as well

Very much the same thing happened to it after the tail pitch lnks, failed. and a host of other parts falling apart too.

Model ended up in the bin and the money was written off.

When you have somehting spinning at 1750 in front of you, and at any moment bits could come flying off...it becomes a major safety issue.

I also have a Quick 60 Pro Metal.I had all the correct parts, everything fitted perfectly and it flies superbly. To be perfectly honest it was a piece of cake to build, if you had trouble with the instructions, you have no business building model helis,

A Thought

Are the Quick 60s the same in the US and UK?

There maybe slight differences but mine came from HHI because of the price difference between the U.S. and the U.K.

In response to...

"Are the Quick 60s the same in the US and UK?"

I just want to clarify that Quick UK and Quick World Wide HHI are 2 totally DIFFERENT companies.

Quick UK does not manufacture a complete heli. They manufacture top of the line upgrade parts for current manufactures helicopters.

Quick World Wide HHI (Importer for Quick Japan I believe)

NO, HHI is not the importer for Quick Japan. HHI makes their own heli that is a copy of the Quick Japan heli.

Wow some people amaze me...lol I looked at the instructions online before i bought the heli which was from HHI not Quick UK, there is a big difference. The instructions sent are nothing like the actual recieved though. The instructions were on a cd from staples and they lacked quite a bit. As far as saying i have no place building models, i have been doing it for quite some time and this particular kit was the worst. It was nearly impossible to get the tail drive belt on, 2 of the gears sent had to be tapped and one had to be remachined by yours truly....this thing was just a hassle and i am glad to see it go...500.00 is no loss to me in the aspect that it could be the life of anybody around.

Dont trust HHI and will not put myself or anybody i know around their products......Great day!!

This topic comes up about every 1-2 months on this site.

Here is what I always write in brief...

I have a Quick. It was bought several years ago when it was first offered by HHI. It is VERY well machined and went together beautifully. It flies MUCH better than my old raptor!

Something has happened to the most recent kits. Although the design is the same, the quality of the parts has fallen significantly. I notice it when I need to order replacement parts. I question if there is part out-sourcing to a lower cost machine facility.

There is now a NEW supplier of Quick in the US. Hopefully the quality of the parts will return to what I enjoyed in my original model.

90% of the people that talk about what crap the model is have either NEVER FLOWN ONE (my cousin's best friend's, sister's, husband's brother had one and it sucked:rolleyes or were unlucky enough to get a crap kit assembled from the recent onslaught of poorly machined parts.

To both parties I simply say... Fly mine or buy a new kit from the original Quick of Japan supplier. Then you can intelligently discuss the merits of the product.
