Avant Aurora - EFX - FX > I got my Avant this morning

Is it really worth buying the AVANT upgrade? It's no doubt that AVANT is really an advance upgrade and cool stuff for FREYA. I just build up my X-spec and this machine really cost me a fortune to finish (everybody knows that), I haven't try flying it yet.

And now here comes AVANT and I like this stuff and to those who understand the efficiency of how the mechanics function this thing is a must. And if I will buy this stuff, it will cost me another $585 for the price plus around $50 or more for shipping here in England, and another $300 for bloody import TAX. It's really expensive upgrade, I can build a new raptor 90 for that.

If I will upgrade my X-xpec to AVANT, what will happen to those wasted parts? That is why I'm asking everybody if is it worth buying it?

Gid01, dont upgrade the xspec, keep that as is. If your going to go down the avant route use a standard freya90. And keep the extras as spares, or sell em on Ebay or here in the RR classifieds.

As for import tax, if CX state toy parts on the customs declaration, there is little or no tax

. just need to ask nicely.

Oh and ask em to send the real bill seperately in an envelope, not with the order.

There is no doubt the avant is going to kick ass. Augusto definatly did his homework and designed a heli thats going to rock. At the same time you cant knock the xspec. The xspec is awesome too. I understand upgrading the freya but I dont see the need to upgrade xspec. I think you should enjoy your xspec and keep an eye out for a cheap freya someone is dumping. Then when you get around to it pick up the avant. Just my opinion.

I was under the impression that the only non std. Freya part required
is the fan shroud and it's mounting pieces that come on the Xspec.

Being a new kit initially we want to have direct contact with all the customers that buy them so that any updates we deem necesary are sent to registered customers free of charge so they are curently only available from us directly. That being said all the Avant spare parts are available for dealers to stock them so that they can support pilots locally.

Regarding your question about what's needed fomr a plastic freya. As of it is right now building an Avant from a Freya kit requires three things:

X-Spec fan shroud.
Fan shroud mounting bracket
X-Spec tail pulley gear (because the avant uses the lower hole of that gear)

There will be a different pulley shaft next week in the kit that allows to use the standard Freya's tail pulley gear hole. As stated above those that bought Avants from us will receive them free of charge and it will become the standard part with the kit.

In the meantime I got a manual revision to finish so I'll get back to work
