Thats no moon, It's a space station!!!!!

The boy is not human. No one from this earthly realm can make a raptor sit up and bark like Alan can. Kudos my boy, kudos.

If Alan doesn't take first at the masters this year the comp is fixed.

Alan,

Good luck this year. I think your gonna do awsome. Keep up the good work. You are always giving us new ideas. My fave part of the vid was the traveling four point tic toc. Thanks for the motivation.

Lou

P.S. This was a 1hr 55min download on dial-up and worth every minute!!

Of all of the top rc heli pilots I have ever seen fly, Alan is the most talented flyer I've ever seen. His flying on this video smokes any of the other times I have seen him fly either on other videos or in person! All I can say is Alan sets the bar so high that I can't even see it!

When Jason won the 3dm, everyone jumped on the wagon, Curtis was toast, his days were numbered.....

Let's keep in mind that the last time Allan and Curtis competed ON THE SAME FIELD, AT THE SAME TIME. Curtis won.

It's funny to see you all crown Allan Champion after this "Compitition of one" you witnessed. The guy's that are claiming 3dm is fixed if Allan isn't declaired winner based on there viewing of a video months before the event is just the silliest thing I ever heard.

Ya, we know it's all popular to dump on Curtis also, all the rage isn't it. Curtis improved drasticly after his loss to Krause. He was gunning for him last year and Jason was not there (working on his heli business)

I would venture a guess that Jason would have had his work cut out for himself last year had he competed. I'll also go so far as to say he better get his hat back in the ring if he ever wants to beat Curtis or Allan again. How long can he stay away from the big leagues and still stay at the top?

In Fact, Allans video is without question the hottest 3D I have ever seen, It blew his XFC flight away. It Blew Curtis's flight away. But what's that mean?

Who's to say that Allan can improve between then and now but Curtis must be home chain smoking on the couch in his undies?

Thanks Allan, Curtis has HIS work cut out for himself because of YOU. you may very well end up undisputed this year..... It will be earned and deserved, not freely given and not respected. I'm guessing you wouldn't have it any other way.

I still think, if it's OK with the posters here, that we should still hold the XFC and 3DM this year for the fun of it just to prove how right you are at this moment.

Esmith get back in your box!

The guy is awesome simple as that

Curtiss is also very awesome

They each have a unique fying style and just to see the 2 guy's competing in the same event would be amazing
Curtiss is still number one but he is going to have to work very hard to keep that spot

Hi guys.
I was half way through this little post and some way I tapped 'one' key and it was posted. Dono what key that is? Anyway that is why I edited it back to a "1" while I finished the post.

So
I just wanted to reassure you guys about the 3dm, as biast suggestions have been made.

NEVER will any one be scored higher because of his name, brand of heli, reputation or any other parameter.

Alans vid is truley fantastic and I have to say that if he flew that flight at 3dm, todate I have not seen such a superb freestyle round flown by any competitor, or indeed any pilot anywhere.
So he has a good chance of winning the freestyle round if he flew like that under pressure..
BUT he will be flying in a cramped field, with some level of turbulence and if it is like last year, an on crowd in your face wind, who knows.

This may or may not effect his overall flight this year and others may or may not adapt better. We shall see.

The other thing is that 3dm is not just a freestyle competition. Set manouvers still holds the biggest single weight of any round. Some pilots are better at nailing predetermined manouvers than others who can put on a stunning freestyle round. I am not saying Alan can't after all he was second last year.

First year Jason came over we were all blown away by his fantastic freestyling, but his set manouvers were not nailed. He was the first to admit he had not focused on these as he was a demo type freestyle man. BUT next year he came back and had worked on the set manouvers. Due to ALL FOUR rounds being better practiced, he won.

Please please, all those who want to suggest that we judges are biast and deliberatly adjust scores, have a chat with Curtis, Jason and Alan himself. Those who compete and sit on the flight line in each round, watching pilots trying to kick butt, have known that the final rankings have been spot on.

I wish Alan the very best of luck this year. If Curtis has seen that vid, he will be working hard. But again, freestyle is just one round of 4.

Hand on heart lads, we do not even focus on WHo the guy is, or which machine he is flying. We are 100% focused on what that machine is doing.

We are all wondering, if Alan can freestyle to that level, whats Danny gona do?
Book those airline tickets lads. This year could be the hardest battle of the best yet.

Simon,

Now we know why you are one of the judges. I agree to all your points 100%.

The competitors are judged based on that day(s) performance. Pressure, wind, location, health, mental health, etc..affect one's performance.

No doubt Alan's video is awesome, but it will not guarantee him a win 3 months from now. Because of the variables listed above, and the outcome is not a popular one, it doesn't mean the event is/was fixed. Although, let's be honest, names do get the judges attention. And we'll leave it at that "attention"......whatever this means to one's interpretation.

Thanks for putting on a great yearly event.

Thanks for you comments.
One thing I make sure is that I do not "pre judge" a pilot before he makes the walk to the flight line.

I think in some competitions an unknown tallent goes out and those judges start low in their minds and score upwards as they are more impressed.
Where as, out goes a well known "name" and they start high and look for reasons to mark them down.

Again we make very sure we do not pre-decide who is good and who is not.
Like last year, we saw the first welcome entry from Japan. The well respected top 3d pilot Yamguchi.
He came 4th in the competition because 'that machine' out there did not do what was intended in the set manoeuvers or move as well as others above him.
He said that he was very clear that once into the competition, that he knew he could not win it thus was very pleased with his position.
So much so guys, that like Curtis, Alan, Danny, Jason (hopefully) Scot Gray, and Yamaguchi will be coming all that way back to the Uk.
Not only that, but we have a new pilot coming from japan. If you get the opotunity see on 3dm website, I think there is a translation of the Article Yamguchi wrote in their heli mag. Check it out as it is 100% his thoughts having competed.

Why do they come back every year, knowing the comp?
Well I feel that the most important thing for them is, they MUST be judged for what they do on that field, that weekend, there and then, and 100% fairly in relation to who they fly against.
We are not just talking heli pilots.
These guys have serious sponsors. They are not only representing them selves, but big companies and their helicopters.
We can not get it wrong.
We are so aware of the responsibility we have and do not take it lightly. Indeed it can really upset ones guts having to mark such top pilots with such big stakes.

Baist? nar.
Remember, freestyling is only one of four rounds these poor guys have to perform. As a full package, we have found that 3dm tests pilots all round capabilities as a 3d pilots. They keep coming back and we hope they will continue to into the future.

But hey, shifting back to the thread title..
ALAN YOU ARE UNREAL MATE.
I have never seen 3d freestyling like it from any 3dm contestent any year. Including fab Jason. And such acuracy in the flying too. Truely inspirational!
Bring it to the UK in July.. PLEASE.

Simon.

For me it the first year of owning an Heli, not even got it in the air yet.

If Alan's Video is anything to go on, 3DM is going to blow my mind.

Everyone who competes in a competion wants to win, on the day its an open book. How many times have we seen the favourite fall in any sport.

Lets hope they are all there rain or shine, as it'll be the best day of the year for me (except when I first lift off)

You will be saturated with the worlds best 3d pilots fighting it out in the masters class.

But lets not forget all those sportsmans and expert pilots who compete.
They are not in the league of the fore mentioned pilots, but still are fantastic to watch. Within each class there are personal battles going on between heli mates. And all of them taking it so seriously

Who will win the expert class this year? And who will be the next Kjel Strom? So much more to the whole weekend.

Whats the better Jason, Curtis and Yamguchi have down loaded Alans flight? You bet yu.

250 flights to watch this year, 100% without blinking and missing nothing is not to good a brief.. No worries. 5th time round, 3dm 2005 Bring it on!!.

See you all there. come say hello.

Holy sheep ****!!!! impressive to say the least!!! BUT I DON'T THINK HE HAS A CHANCE TO WIN ANY TITLE,,,,,,because in order to win the judges must be able to see the helli once in awhile!!! It's all just a blurr!!!!! You can only judge what you can see LMFAO great job Alan

QUICK! ,,,can someone turn the gravity off for just a second,,,,

I think we need to ask for a blood test, I think he is an alien Seriously though, he has a much more "natural" feel to his flying than some of the other good pilots I have seen.

Alan, excellent job flying. How much do you fly per week?

It makes you wonder why other manufacturers bother after seeing that,In the Uk the Raptor 90 costs a lot less than the other makes of 90 heli and it makes me laugh when people sell a perfectly good Rappy 90 to get a Millenium,Fury, vigor,Dyna X etc..im not saying these are not good machines but its all in the pilot..Also Raptor parts are considerably cheaper than all of the other brands...im running 50's at the moment but i know what 90 im going to get now...fantastic video, the best i have seen
