[QUOTE] heli_guy37,

"With all do respect Curtis your flying is amazing all the same but ive never seen you do that."

Curtis Youngblood and Alan Szabo has their own flying style. Both are just as impressive to watch to an experienced pilot. If saying one is better or more impressive than the other you have probably not been in this hobby long. [/QOUTE]

Hey cheif I would recommend you re-read my post. I stated clearly that for freestly 3D of the two pilots I believe Alan has left Curtis behind although Curtis may be a better FAI ,Pattern, Known manuevers pilot. I understand some pilots are better than others in sertain aspects of flying that is why I stated FREESTYLE 3D. Calm down not the place for stupid remarks. Alan once agian amazing.

I understand both are impressive in "FREESTYLE 3D" as to whome is better that will be up to the judges as the experienced/trained eye can tell.

Head speed

Hi MISTER Sazbo ;-)

Did you tach your head speed ?
My friend having studied musics and engineering is able to tell head speed, after doing some test I found him quite accurate,

He eared your head speed at 2093 rpm. Just not to say 2100 ;-)

the ATV values for throttle jockey dont work, maybe you dont have a governor. their tach is however accurate. I checked it against a neon light and it showed 1800rpm wich correspond to 60Hz.

Regards

Nice flying Alan!!! I love the flipping Rainbows! I figured there wasn't much room for improvement, but you seem to keep finding it.

What gear ratio are you running in that thing?

Call me an Uber Geek, I thought it would be fun to figure this one out.
According to the audio track on that video (assuming no alterations in speed), Alan's headspeed is 1800 give or take a couple.

The large pulses are the blade bark (30 per half second) for a total of 3600 per minute devided by 2 blades is 1800.

During blade bark, the headspeed tends to drop a bit. That could account for the 20 RPM. It could also be due to the DivX codec, the camera, his tach, my computer,Doppler effect, etc... That is why I prefaced it with "According to the audio track". I checked it in a few spots throughout the video to be sure I was being accurate and they all came out the same. Of course, a larger sample, say 2 seconds, would give a more accurate reading. But for this discussion, I think that the +-1800 is good enough.

At any rate, it was a fun distraction for a couple of hours.

Who's pissing? Why do people want to think that every discussion is some sort of pissing match? Do you not see all the expressions ( ) in my posts?

It just sparked an idea I had to find out without a doubt what it was. It was a fun distraction and I thought I'd share. That's all.

Sorry if I had an inkling to share something here. I'll keep it to myself next time.

So sorry,
Malorie

BTW, Keep up the inspirational flying Alan.
