I'd like to see a Fury flown like that. What make Futaba better than Airtronics? Seems to me that Futaba are behind Airtronics. Cheaper and faster.
Why then are we all using Futaba? Because the majority say to.

The majority doesnt say to use Futaba. As a matter of fact most of the flyers i know use JR. I think the reason people like Futaba is that although it is harder to prograam, it has a lot more points on a curve and other similar features hence why they are so hard to program. I dont know anything about Airtronics but I have heard a lot of early flyers get them first then switch to others as they increase. I dont know if that is simply a cost issue vs functions or they just want to try something new after learning on the initial system.

A fury flown like that? I bet someone with Alan's skills and his attention to mechanical detail could. Maybe the Raptor does have better improvements (aftermarket) avail in swashplate etc because a lot more flyers fly it, there are other factors that play here, not just saying Raptors rule everything else stinks. I went with the Sceadu initially because of the reason. Everyone buys this, why because a magazine said so? Or the local flyer? Only someone who is impartial to brand name and has flown both helis the same amount of time can determnine if one is better. So I went with the newer design. Although it may not be tried and true, it has to have at least some improvements to the last design. Again I am biased because I have never flown a Raptor. I think people should give credit where due but not put down the other choppers without knowing its capabilities.

Hey Fury or Vigor guys, hint hint, it seems like people here want you to sponsor Alan to see if you have got what it takes. Later folks.

But... but... raptors do rule!

I've seen quite a few helicopters fly and I've flown quite a few helicopters... and I can't see why a R90 would be worse than a Fury. Imho there both great! with the R90 in the lead because of the simpel construction etc etc.

Cheers,

Rich

Hi
Looking at the Sunday at the Lake.wmv and 1 minute and 50 seconds in the movie. What is that manoeuvre called? Any name and url on how to perform that would be appreciated.

hi,

that's a funnel. I haven't a url, but you put both sticks in the right or left corner of your transmitter (not maximal!!!). You holt the heli on the same height with the nick (standard you give up). When you do it with the landingskids inside the funnel (like alan does in the vid), you give negative. When you do it with the skids outside the funnel, you give positive pitch.

I hope it will helps,
nando

I've watched this video several times and I'm still impressed every time.

Alan and Danny are going to be at our 5th annual Fresno fun fly in April/May and I can't wait to finally see him fly in person.

Seems I missed out on the 112 meg version of sunday_at_the_lake as the www.djsuds.net site has vanished. I keep poking around hoping someone else will host it or that it will surface again long enough for me to get my hands on it.

It's not really all that much better. It's still only 15fps which is just too jerky. But if you want it, I could host it - not before Monday, that is.

Sounds like it was actually a 225 meg file at 30 fps with that resolution so was reduced to 15 fps resulting in 112 meg but slide show effect?

Guess if it's too hard to watch I'll just delete it, curious to know though, if the res is *really high* perhaps the author would be willing to try a different compromise.

It really is a great vid worthy of a permanent place on my hard drive in the right format.

I agree.
I was showing it on a projector at work with a 53" screen..It was nice, but I wouldn't mind downloading a file with a nicer resolution!
