| I will never buy another Hirobo Product, PERIOD! Here is a copy of the letter I sent them, along with my XRB Sky Robo almost 1 month ago.
XXXXXXXX,
I’m returning this Hirobo XRB SR per XXXX at XXXXXXX. I’ve previously spoken to yourself and XXXXXXXX about a problem I was / am having with it. It appears the cyclic controls are out of phase by approximately 45 degrees. Yourself and XXXX have told me that this is just the way they fly. But, others including XXXX at XXXXXXXX, say theirs do not exhibit these tendencies. I have also, through some of the online forums, discovered that there appears to be varying degrees of this problem. I even went as far a to order a crystal for the heli, in order to use some of the mixing functions available in my Futaba 9C transmitter. Using a –70 –35 0 +35 +75 elevator to aileron mix, I was able to mix out enough in forward and reverse flight, to actually achieve, from hover, straight forward flight, with a straight forward input, and the same in reverse. I was extremely happy! The only problem is that I was unable to mix left and right. Therefore, when I attempted left and right input / flight from hover, it took considerably more correction than before.
Please test fly this heli. If it is your conclusion that there is something wrong please replace it. If it is your opinion that this is just the way they fly, please lets try and work out some form of refund / credit. I purchased this heli for some indoor cold weather practice. With the controls being out of phase by 45 degrees, this is less practice, and more like a bad habit producer for me.
Thank you very much for your time.

Today I received my XRB back with a Service Report saying, "Test Flies OK Due to design this is the flight charactoristics."
I guess this is a live and learn situation! I wasted $225 on this thing. (Actually paid $325, but it is probably worth $100.)
I'm sure I'll get ripped pretty good for this post. I know a lot of people really like MRC Altech. But, I just want people to know what they are getting for their $325! |
