I will never buy another Hirobo Product, PERIOD! Here is a copy of the letter I sent them, along with my XRB Sky Robo almost 1 month ago.

XXXXXXXX,

I’m returning this Hirobo XRB SR per XXXX at XXXXXXX. I’ve previously spoken to yourself and XXXXXXXX about a problem I was / am having with it. It appears the cyclic controls are out of phase by approximately 45 degrees. Yourself and XXXX have told me that this is just the way they fly. But, others including XXXX at XXXXXXXX, say theirs do not exhibit these tendencies. I have also, through some of the online forums, discovered that there appears to be varying degrees of this problem. I even went as far a to order a crystal for the heli, in order to use some of the mixing functions available in my Futaba 9C transmitter. Using a –70 –35 0 +35 +75 elevator to aileron mix, I was able to mix out enough in forward and reverse flight, to actually achieve, from hover, straight forward flight, with a straight forward input, and the same in reverse. I was extremely happy! The only problem is that I was unable to mix left and right. Therefore, when I attempted left and right input / flight from hover, it took considerably more correction than before.
Please test fly this heli. If it is your conclusion that there is something wrong please replace it. If it is your opinion that this is just the way they fly, please lets try and work out some form of refund / credit. I purchased this heli for some indoor cold weather practice. With the controls being out of phase by 45 degrees, this is less practice, and more like a bad habit producer for me.
Thank you very much for your time.

Today I received my XRB back with a Service Report saying, "Test Flies OK Due to design this is the flight charactoristics."

I guess this is a live and learn situation! I wasted $225 on this thing. (Actually paid $325, but it is probably worth $100.)

I'm sure I'll get ripped pretty good for this post. I know a lot of people really like MRC Altech. But, I just want people to know what they are getting for their $325!

Sorry to hear about your bad experience. Hopefully you haven't given up with them and maybe get something resolved. Fortunately for me, my XRB flies great (what do I know) and hope that if I ever do have any problems with it, Hirobo will make it right. Good luck.

thats too bad

I am having a ball with mine...but I never expected it to fly like the big boys...so my view is different.

I am sure because of your expectations, you are now dissapointed, which is to bad cause it is fun to chase the cat or fly around the living room.

As for Hirobo/mrc giving you your money back because you did not like it...well...not many companies will refund your money because you did not like it.

I sure did not expect it to fly the the big boys. I certainly expected and assumed, (and yes, "assumed". Made an *ss of me. ;-) that this heli, if given forward input...... it would actually go forward! If given right input......it would actually go right etc.! I do not believe this is to much to ask from a $325 heli!

Have you had a chance to fly any others?

Anyone in your area have one...you could test?

I don't slam into forward flight..I do go moderatly fast for the heli...and I do feel the out of phase...but not so much that I don't want the heli.

Don't give up on her yet....chase the cat...or the wife...it is fun

I think I may try the full blade tape mod. tonight. I did try per MRC Altech, basically doubling up the pre-installed tape. I didn't see any change in flight characteristics from doing that. But, I'll give the other mod. a shot tonight. If that doesn't help....... It's off to RunRyder classifieds for it!

I flew mine into a wall once. Damn thing bounced off and kept going. No damage whatsoever, I was freaking amazed! I think some of us expect a little too much from this heli. You're not going to get a lot of speed out of it and as far as agility is concerned, well, that's subject to debate. This heli is no more than an indoor putt around the house, hovering, pissing off the old lady, chase the cat type of toy. Great for practicing nose in hovering too. Be happy with that and don't expect much more. That would be unrealistic. As for flying in a linear direction, mine does just fine. Just make sure you got it tweaked so that the flashing LED alternates from green to red. I'm quite happy with my little toy and only wished they made other type of heli canopies for it.
