I made a 7.4v 1100ma battery. Just fit the space and flight time can be extended to 25 mins. haha.

Overheating?

Greetings,

Good job making you battery, however...

I thought the point of doing short flights, like 5- 10 min., was to keep the motors from overheating and therefore increase their lifespan.

Actually, I have a 11.1v 1100mA. I took out one cell and re-soldered the wiring with balanced charging wiring. Size was just fitted to XRB. Same Hirbo charger can be used.

Over heating may be problem. But I will let it landing for cooling instead of non-stop flying.

Where do I get more packs?

Where do I get more packs? If I am going to do this MOD....tell me more about how you did it...I don't know about wiring....

I would just like to have more packs to run her longer...I do sit the heli down on occasion every 2 - 3 minutes when my concentration runs thin I guess it also helps to cool the motors....

You may purchase general 7.4v 1100ma Li-polymer with little modification as below wiring connection.

+ Cell - + Cell -
Red White Black
wire wire wire

Of course, you need to purchase similar connector plug but not easy.
I use separate pin(cut from servo wire) for each wire connection. May be I will post my battery photo later.

I wouldn't recommend changing batteries, unless of course you're ok with changing burned out motors.
