After ruining my align 400L, I bought the Neu 3500kv, but I bought one with the 3.2 dia, on purpose, before I found out that align has pinnions for the 2.3 shaft also. ok, in a bind, I put the 11t pinion on, mild timming in the align 25a esc, stock blades, TP2100 3s battery, I had to try this, I was impressed! I got , no kidding, 17minutes plus a bit in a Hover inside the house. Battery was luke warm after, just like when it ran the align motor, the motor however, was a bit hot. I could hold my finger on it however for as long as I wanted. I am pleased. Wished I would have bought the 2.3 shaft version now though, so I could use a 10t and go down further to 8-9t for when I wanna run the 1320 4s packs. I will post head speed I have tommorrow weather permitting. It is definetly better in the hover than what headspeed I had with the align 400l though, and I loved that motor. even when I flew it mild 3d. ( for information purposes, I didnt fry my 400L, I somehow dropped a small screw in it one night, didnt think it hit the motor, well it went inside, first run with a screw in it was not a pretty thing, kinda a bummer actually. )

Yea Im trying new motors too. I have a Himax HB2815 - 3000 that I just hooked up that is way more powerfull then my ALign 400L. I also just made a trade for a new Mega Motor 16/15/3. Im taking my 400L out of commision so I can use these other motors. For the record the 400L has over 6 hours of use on it and its a great motor. Still the most bang for your buck out of any of the choices I have seen. That motor flew my 664 gram T-rex through flips, loops, rolls, you name it did it. It was running at full throttle most of the time but it was just enough that it got the job done. It didnt have much spare power though it was at 100% most of the time it was in use. I will kinda miss it. But I have new power options to try out.

Toad post some specs on that motor while its in use if you can, Ex. headspeed, temp, or amps.

I am new to electric heli's. I have no clue how to check amp draw while running. Temp I can do. This is a way different world for me from the Nitro stuff I am so used too. I think I will buy the Neu 3500kv with the 2.3
shaft now though, I am sold on em. Head speed numbers wont be a problem to get figures on that, I have an optic tach, and the wife is proficient in useing it

Toad,
Get an Astroflight Super Whattmeter and put it in line between your battery and speed controller. I hold the heli in my hand but over my head and the meter hangs by the skids so I can see it. Increase the throttle on the Tx and look at the amp draw and current voltage loaded in real time. The meter is about 60.00 and comes with either Deans or Astroflight connectors. Most guys seem to use the Deans connectors anyway so it is plug and play.

I use the Medusa Power Analyzer Plus . It hooks up to the computer to record the entire session. I use it to make charts like this
