I'm bored at work, and reading the forums here, and I've noticed something. I'm not mentioning this to start a pissing match or anything, or step on toes, but I gotta say it, I've rarely seen so many whiners in one place! This is a hobby. Us pilots, new and old, experienced and noob, do it because we enjoy tinkering and flying these little cash traps. And I know folks get frustrated, I have too, but why do so many people have to jump on here and whine about how crappy this and that is on their T-Rex? Why can't they search the boards for similar posts or post something in a less critical way. I mean sh!t, the dang things only cost $165 or so. What were you expecting?!? If you want precision and all that, then drop the HUNDREDS of dollars for a nitro bird or something and quit pissin' and moanin.
I have NEVER seen an advertisement in any form from Align making wild claims about precision and amazing tolerances and all that. I think they have produced a wonderful product, priced very fairly with awesome parts prices and support. Just look at how quickly they attended to so many issues with the X version!
I'm sorry, like I said I don't mean to piss folks off and all that. But I just had to vent a bit. Guys/gals, lighten up. Seriously, stop and think about it. What were you expecting for $165? I personally was pretty impressed with this little bugger. I wasn't concerned about the "slop" at all. The whole thing went together in an hour, the kit was AWESOME!, I spun it up and it hovered beautifully! Lighten up folks, just have fun with it. Let the flames begin.

Could not agree more

The TREX has issues, as do all micro's, it's cheap and fun, get over it

I'm also sick of people posting "what motor to use on TREX" - for goodness sake, do a search, there are heaps of posts detailing the answer to this question, duh!

It's also pointless posting "this motor works great" unless you also detail the battery and pinion you are using - vital information

However, StrangeRanger, if you want to see a whinging bunch of ill temptered and nasty people, go to Yahoo RCGroups - I just hate that place, it's a nut house

J
you are 100% correct.
my problem has been that new micro flyers have been convinced that the rex is the greatest without realising the amount of work required to make them work. I love to tinker and experiment with my micro, and i know that they need it but many dont.

Folks, I"m not pointing fingers or naming names so Jafa while I appreciate your feedback, could you edit your post maybe and remove your reference to that thread.
Like I said, I'm not looking to piss people off. I just was making some observations ya know.
I'll have to go check out yahoo and get a chuckle i guess

How many from a discussion forum to change a light bulb.

- I guess most of you already read it, but I just had to post it. Have fun... -

1 to change the light bulb.

1 to post that the light bulb has been changed.

14 to share similar experiences of changing light bulbs and how the light bulb could have been changed differently.

7 to caution about the dangers of changing light bulbs.

27 to point out spelling/grammar errors in posts about changing light bulbs.

53 to flame the spell checkers.

6 to argue over whether it's "lightbulb" or "light bulb"
... another 6 to condemn those 6 as anal-retentive.

2 industry professionals to inform the group that the proper term is "lamp".

15 know-it-alls who claim they were in the industry, and that "light bulb" is perfectly correct.

109 to post that this forum is not about light bulbs and to please take this discussion to a lightbulb forum.

203 to demand that cross posting to hardware forum, off-topic forum, and lightbulb forum about changing light bulbs be stopped.

111 to defend the posting to this forum saying that we all use light bulbs and therefore the posts are relevant to this forum.

306 to debate which method of changing light bulbs is superior, where to buy the best light bulbs, what brand of light bulbs work best for this technique and what brands are faulty.

27 to post URLs where one can see examples of different light bulbs.

14 to post that the URLs were posted incorrectly and then post the corrected URLs.

27 to post about links they found from the URLs that are relevant to this group which makes light bulbs relevant to this group.

33 to link all posts to date, quote them in their entirety including all headers and signatures, and add "Me too".

12 to post to the group that they will no longer post because they cannot handle the light bulb controversy.

4 to suggest that posters request the light bulb FAQ.

44 to ask what is a "FAQ"?

4 to say "didn't we go through this already a short time ago?"

143 to say "do a search on 'light bulbs' before posting questions about light bulbs".

16 to say, "I sent you a private message about light bulbs".

1 new forum member to respond to the original post 6 months from now and to start it all over again.

StrangeRanger I couldnt agree more

Im also annoyed at these threads were nothing productive is done. There just counseling sessions for people who are pissed off to have a place to make others irratated as well. This isnt a freaking customer support center. This the real world. Were not paid for out time we do it becasue we like to. If your going have a bad attitude and say things that are falsely exagerated then we will ignore you I hope. People stop replying to threads where someone is just blowing steam. They get turned into these long pointless debates were both sides have made up thier minds and nothing productive comes of it. Except cluttering the forums and taking the value of the site with it. When its all junk threads who want to spend time coming back here to read them. RunRyder isnt like the other forums in the fact that the quality of people here is great. Dont feed into threads that are pointless and not going anywhere. Please , thank you for at liest listening even if you disagree.

Torgeir, that is pretty funny stuff.
