Which is best for trex,i had a 240 on originaly and no probs, changed to a 401 i had around and seem to have lost some head speed,is this possible, does the 401 consume more voltage,or is my Ph25 struggling to power it along with servos and mega 16/15/4 motor????

Any ideas???

I haven't heard of the 401 using more juice. As far as which is better, I think it's just personal preference and ease of use. I personally like the remote gain adj. on my 401. But then I'm lazy

401 is faster but with micro helis I dont think its going to be noticable. The 401 requires a 6 channel receiver for remote gain. I had a 401 and used the remote gain 3 times in the whole time I had the heli flying. Its overkill for a micro heli. Stay with 5 channels its cheaper and lighter. But if you must get a gyro that you will use on a nitro heli one day then it might be worth the extra money and weight to have a 401 for use with a larger heli. As far as im concerned I only fly 240's and use berg 5 recievers. Works great for me no complaints. I have 3 setups all the same gyro. Must tell you something in the fact that I keep buying more of the same one.

I thought that the 401 would be benificial when you moved to FFF.
Flipping the switch to a rate gyro will let the tail weathervane through the turns.
Am I incorrect?
I have been flipping the switch while hovering just to see the difference, but my basement is a little too small for FFF. (OK, there is a skill issue as well)

You should probably leave HH turned off. Learn to fly standard mode. You need to be in the habit of flying the tail so to speak. Dont count on a gyro to keep it where you want. You put it where you want. Once you have learned how to fly figure eights and nose in hovering then try HH mode. You may not even like it. At times I like at sometimes I dont. Its better to learn without it trust me.

Tough call really, HH is good for learning to fly imo, once you get the hang of turns it's pretty easy to turn HH off and fly the tail manually, but turning HH off to learn could increase the learning curve - but everybody is different
