Just got this very expensive $85.00 Swash. Very nice, very smooth, but......the linkage balls are way too small for the purple ball links. I'm very upset.

Waiting for email from these guys.....

Must use older gray links with there swash

Hey I bought one too. I didnt know it was a hell-ihobby one until I recieved it. And of course it didnt fit and I was pissed and about to return it. I called them and let them know how it didnt fit. They gave me the excuse that when they made there CNC swash they made it to the older size linkages. You will need to get some old larger gray linkages to use on that swash. Once you get the gray ones on there its works well. I have several hours of fligth time on mine and im happy with it for the most part. Wish I knew it weighed like 8 grams more then the Micro Heli swash or i would have said no thank you, I would have said no thank you if I would have seen that Hell-ihobby made it. But I bought it from an online store that I like and since the swash worked after I figured out that they made the balls to large I kept it. I wont reccomend them to anyone though. Hell-ihobby CNC stuff is out of date as soon as you get it. I have already had bad expeirences with my first CNC purchase from them. They should just stop making parts that are junk and out of date. Please Hell-hobby just stick with what you know whatever it might be? As far as waiting for a reply to your email in my past expeirences hell will freeze over before they reply. You might want to spend the money on the long distance phone call for there help if you want it.

Jarod, I think you got it backwards. The linkages are too big. The balls (did I say balls???) on the swash are too small. I took a gray linkage from the spare parts bag and it still was too big.

The balls on the Rex kit are 4.70mm

The balls on the CNC swash are 4.41mm

Thats enough difference for the link to be way too big.

Anyone have a number. Couldn't find it on their site....

oh, I misread. I thought I knew exaclty what your problem was from my expierence. If the balls are to small in your situation you got a Shogun Swash as they used smaller balls. What a mess you can get into with there CNC stuff. You need to get the balls for the T-Rex. The Shogun swash wont just swap over without modification to the ball size.

Well yes but you gotta work with what you already have. There is always next time.

It really sucks. The part number is right. The description is right. But the swash isn't.......

I've got an RMA number and they will be getting a call from me tomorrow.

HI i have used a cnc swash from the zoom zap shogun ( it has 90 as well as 120 mounting )

I had to swap the ball over on it to make it work. it ended up being 1.6g heavier then the stock swash all up ..was rather happy with that

I simply cut 2-3 mm off the t rex ball screws and red lock-tighted them into the swash ...perfect fit you can even use the ones off the swash you are taking off.

cheers doug

Sounds like a great idea. I was looking at it yesterday and really didn't think about taking the linkage balls out. At first they looked "pressed" in an not screwed. I'll check it out. I would truly like to have one done correctly right from the start, but, I will look into your solution.

thanks,

Luis

Just got of the phone with HeliHobby:

They did send the wrong swash but don't order the right one unless you have the GRAY ball links. The PURPLE ball links are too tight according to them. I'm not sure about the MicroHeli one but be sure to verify.

It would have been nice if they said that on their website.......nah too easy.

see ya,

Luis

I have both the Micro Heli and the Hell-ihobby CNC swashs, The Micro Heli one is I think 6 or more grams lighter. It will work with the purple links unlike the outdated Hell-ihobby one. It has allot more movement on the ball then the Hell-ihobby one by about 20% I say. Basically the Hell-hobby one is more expensive and is the worst CNC choice we have at the moment. Sorry but I have one so I can say these things. I didnt ask enough questions about who made the Swash before I bought it. It was my mistake for not asking and Im already using it so its not going to be returned. I sure would never buy anything of theirs again. Oh well to late now but wont be so careless about not inquring about who made the CNC part. I was so pissed when I recieved it and it said Hell-ihobby on the bag. I thougt what the heck is this? I was tricked and I almost returned it. I probably should have I realize it was a mistake keeping it if I was that unhappy with it. Im still pissed off about my wasted money spent in the past on their garbage CNC gears. Then they ignore my emails when I try and inform them of my difficulty with their products. I dont care if someone is finally awake over there im still waiting for that reply to my emails from a year ago!

This how it has happed re the linkages, the purple version was realesed because many reported teh original gray linkage is kid of loose! So it has been modified and become purple! Then many reported again the purple linkage is too tight!

Now they change again! The purpose one will be discountiuned! It "seems" Align will furthe rmodify the linkage a bit looser(suppose not as loose as the original one)! Then the color will go back to the gray again!

In addition, Align just released new linkage ball this week! It is said to be more perfect rounded! Not sure what this will cause and affect you guys yet! But i seem have heard one guy said, he got this new linking ball already and it fits his "used to be" too tight purple linkage very nicely....., what do you think?
