| Like others that have mentioned it, my counter gear appeared to be warped in my new Twinstar. I also had a few other problems with the kit which Century took care of getting me the replacement parts.
When the new counter gear was looked at closely, it looked fine. The new one was installed and again it was warped. After close examination, it looks like the gear is fine, as is the shaft. The gear sits on a pin at the bottom of the shaft. The gear can very easily not sit flush, causing the wobble. I just "twisted" the gear and now it runs much smoother.
The other interesting not is that this is the first 30 size heli I have worked on. Previous ones have been 50 size (true 50 size) and 60's. This little heli is so tight, anytime something needs to be removed, almost the whole darn thing needs to be disassembled. This kit is the ARF and I have torn it down 3 times now!!
The swashplate is 10mm which is great for a 30 size ship, but there is some slop in the fit to the mainshaft. I compared it to a spare Hirobo Freya swashplate and the fit is perfect. I may just use the Freya swashplate. They are very similiar in size.
This morning I finished the throttle linkage, installed the scale muffler, and attached the boom. Just some linkages and the mechanics are done.
Will post pictures when done!
