I ran into another trex owner while at ultimate hobbies (orange, ca) today who said that he's burned out two 400L motors and has switched over to the 400S and has had no probs.

also, has anyone had both and can talk about their preference/difference yet? or did i miss that post? the topic http://www.runryder.com/helicopter/t143618p1 seemed kind of inconclusive..

thanks!

I have seen one of these burn out but they were running the 15 tooth pinion and roasting the motor. You must make sure your not cooking it. If its not pushed past its normal operating temps it wont have that prob. I have at liest 5 hours on mine so far and no sign of wear at all. Im really impressed with it. I use a 13 tooth pinion and fly with head speeds around 2100-2400. Motor stays around 210 degrees after a 10 -12 min flight. Im not using a heat sink either.
