| Fixed means that the speed controller relies on your throttle stick position and throttle curves that you program into the Tx to tell the motor what to do. High governor is where the motor tries to keep a constant headspeed and you control collective only with the throttle stick. You still need to set up a governor curve in your Tx like 85,85,85,85,85 (in a 9C radio for example) to tell the ESC what you want from it. I set mine as follows:
Normal mode throttle curve is: 0,50,90,95,100
Idle up throttle curve is:100,100,100,100,100
I run fixed throttle in mine.
Search around for governor issues. Some guys didn't seem to like it. Castle did do some improvements to the software in the ESC directly relating to governor operation back in October '04. The current software version is 1.10 One of the best things Castle offers is the ability to program and update your ESC using your computers USB port. It also offers the ability to go online and get the most current software release for your speed controller. The LHS that you bought it from may have had it on the shelf for a few months before you bought it......
Hope this helps. |
