I just finished building my Trex and I had a few quality problems. One side of the tail rotor hub wasn't threaded. It was easy to fix with an M2 tap. One of the blade holding bolt nuts spun in the blade grip. I had to CA it in place. The blade grip top and bottom halves aren't really parallel to the blades and they dig into the blade covering. Don't know how to fix this. Also some of the linkages are pretty wobbly. I think the brass bushings are undersized. Don't have a solution for this yet either.

I also think the rotor dampers are really soft. Is this normal for a micro?

Anyone else having these problems?

I have a blade holding nut that wants to rotate in the grip, best thing to do is to run the nyloc nut onto the bolt a few times to loosen it up before putting onto the heli, one of mine was really tight and caused it to spin in the holder, it's fine now, didn't have to resort to CA.

The dampers are soft and yes that is fairly normal for micros.

Ashley.

I had seen that on there website. Am i right in assuming all the controls are the new purple color with the tighter tolerances in the link. So that's a complete replacement for the A arms and a few other spots? I hope so my A arms are gettiing a little sloppy. I hope those are upgrades A arms.

I havent got hold of them yet myself, but Im quite sure that it should take care of the slop in A-arms and elevator package.
Will try to get those parts asap!

I have the purple links etc., and they aren't the problem. The bulk of the slop is due to the aileron control, mixing, and flybar control levers rocking sideways. Careful tightening has helped some but it's a pretty sloppy design.

I just inspected the system closely and was shocked to find one of the inner swashplate balls loose on the screw. I had to really bear down on the screw to get the ball tight. Seems the hole isn't quite deep enough.

Yet another issue I had was that the mid-boom clip for the tail rotor pushrod broke the first time I pushed the pushrod in. I'm holding it together with a strip of strapping tape.

Using too much force will destroy the threads.
