I converted my Raptor 30 to a 50 and wonder if it needs the Framebrace and the coolingshroud?

The frame brace is a good addition to any Rappy. I also recommend the metal frame nuts as they to help to stiffen the frame. If you are just flying around and not pushing it hard you do not need them. But why have a 50 if you are not pushing it? The cooling shroud helps only if you are asking for max power. If you keep the 50 rich it will stay cool enough. The frame brace can help save the frames in a crash. I have seen many a frame crack near the skid attachment point and the brace may help save the frames. The big worry with the 50 conversion is the clutch and one way bearing. I am still not convinced either is up to sevre punishment that the 50 can dish out.

I have a raptor 50 and have had no problems with cooling of this engine

I should have clarified,Doug. I bought the kit version of the fifty which comes with the frame brace. I do feel the brace is neccessary as I have seen the thirty crash without the brace. It is not a pretty sight. I would definately recommend to anyone converting their 30 size machine to a fifty to purchase the frame brace. But do not waste your money on a shroud extension unless you have documented cooling problems
