whats worse is a$$holes that have to get vanity liscence plates that say "BMW" or "CORVETTE"....etc... ya, thanx alot a$$hole, like I dont know what it is you're driving!

Not nearly as bad as folks that put their first name on their tag. That's the one I always questioned. I don't want anyone knowing MY name out their in traffic. My tag has my "tag" I used to paint on things when I was a young hoodlum on the west coast. I guess I never will grow up...

I would NEVER compare a BMW to a Benz.... they arent even in the same class!


Road&Track had a civilian road test at US Cellular field in Chicago a couple months ago, I got to test drive a new BMW, Volvo S70 and the new Subaru Legacy.


I drove all 3 and will say that I liked the BMW the best, but I wouldnt buy any of them.

The AMG horsepower numbers (though impressive) are attained with the aid of positive intake pressurization (super charging). The BMW's over 100 hp per liter specs (3.2 liters --> 333HP) are MUCH more impressive because the BMW engineers hit that number using normal aspiration only (no super charger or turbo charger involved/required).

One of the main reasons BMWs are so impressive is because of their silky smooth, extremely powerful and sophisticated engines. The BMW M Division 3.2 liter inline-6 powering the M3 is a technological work of art!
