Well I got my kit today@!! put it together ok, but wound up stripping the flybar control arm screw that holds the flybar in place... still moves around, the other compensates, but I have a feeling I shouldn't fly it like that, so I guess I will be order another set of control arms and waiting a good 4 or 5 days to fly :-(

Mark

PS- any ideas for a temporary fix?

Opps

I did the same thing but I am going to use CA to hold them for now and will order parts later flybar may need cut to remove but it will be bent in a crash anyway so it will still have to be removed.

this seems to be quite common i'm afraid.the options are to drill and tap the other side of the alli boss(only good if you have the tools).i put a small amount of very thin oil on the screw, them added some thick super glue in the hole let it start to set and put the screw back in and every few minutes give the screw a turn to check it isn't stuck fast.held up fine so far.it is also wise to put a couple of flats on the shaft before fitting.
the best way would be to drill out the ali part and put a new bit in complete--but that requires proper tools.

if it's not broke i'll try harder

Use JB Weld to reconstruct the thread. I have done it lots of times and it holds perfectly well and for a long time, even if you need to remove the screw a couple of times.

Make sure you either oil or grease lightly the threads on the screw, or you will end up with a soldered thread.
