I was taking a shower, and left my Ion out on the kitchen table for TEN MINUTES. I normally keep it in a closed room where my cats can't get to it.

I got out of the shower only to find this:

My 9 week-old kitten had gotten to it. She chewed up all three wires between the speed controller and the motor. The motor wires are fine. It's the three on the speed controller that were trashed.

CAN THIS BE REPAIRED? And if so, can it be repaired RELIABLY, i.e. back to original condition? Or would I just be better off purchasing a new controller?

Just leave a plugged in extention cord across the floor by the cat food or on a counter as they think there's food up there. If the cat survives it won't chew any more!

my dog chewed up some wires on my computer once, I beat him from one side of the house to the other with the wires. He never chewed on any wires again. Kinda inline with vetriders' power cord trick.

Easy fix.

Just cut the heat shrink off the controler, desolder the old wires, solder on some new wires and reheat shrink it.

Very easy to do and do right.

No need to hurt the dumb animal that did it. Just put the Heli out of it's reach next time.

I've been to lots of heli fly-ins and never seen a pet (dog or cat) piss on a heli. Bringing your best friend (including your wife) to a heli fly-in is great!
