My 2 starters wont turn over my new 61 ! They turn over my 30s easly tho. What is hands down the absolute strongest starter with the most torque for hi comp 61s and above? I dont want to have to loosen the glow plug every time I want to start, it will wear out the threads and my patience! Id really like to know what the majority is using. Dave

When I got my 91, it quickly sorted out my starter motor, so I went and invested in a sullivan hi-torque on and now connect it directly to my car. No problems anymore.

The other day I borrowed a mate's 24 volt start and that thing spun the engine so hard I thought the conrod was going to smash through the liner!

Buy 2 batteries...

I had the same problem. But I solved that by buying another 12V sealed batteries and connect them in series. That gives me 24V to juice up the starter. It works great!!

I think most any starter will work. It all depends on the juice you feed it. I use a motorcycle battery in my field box to start the 60. The higher the amps the better. I tried the double 7-cell packs and that couldnt do it.
