Hi Rocheleaud,

Don't waste your time, order your maxir

You may bought an SE no LE, in kit, and order many part with because their shipping cost is very expensive ( 30 euros for the kit, 20 euros for spare part), so order a big number of spare part in the same time, like :

- 3d paddle (very strong with crash !!!)
- tail 48mm carbon blade (strong )
- main carbon blade
- 3 or 4 small crash kit ( the large crash kit contain plastic main blade, very good for normal and scale flying, but not for accro & 3d, so avoid it)
- some skid
- some tail pinion.
- tail fin support or plastic tail fine

Concerning "resistance" to crash, the maxir is excellent, after two big crash ( first with 60/70 km/h of wind in out of looping, second when my accu plug have been discounectedin flight).

Some same part are always break in the crash ( front or rear skid so don't buy tuning skid, tail fin support...), but no important and critical part where damaged.

I love it for it, you can re- flight 10/15 mn after a serious crash.

Thanks for the info YoDa , it will be useful to others ...

But i think you skipped some information’s about me in this thread ... i am 100% sure i got the first Maxir in North America ( at least two days before Russ ;o)) , so i already have a Maxir since last year now + millions of spare parts ( at least , to build 2 or 3 others ) . I get all my parts from Icare ( www.icare-rc.com) but i know that Russ carry those in the States . Each time i go see Etienne ( the owner of Icare ) there is 3 or 4 SE sitting there waiting to be shipped out ( no they are not always the same ) . Each time i take one in my hands and think they are a jewel ... so i know everything about it!!! i just can't put myself to buy a second Maxir ... just bought a house and have to cut somewhere . And i don't like having 7 birds sitting on the shelf doing nothing .

About the landing gear breaking , use zip tie to secure it instead of the 4 screw ... it will save it ... or if it break , don't throw it away , just CA it back and put shrink tube around it , it will be tougher than anything .

if you want to see some pictures about those tips and tricks , go on Glen's site at maxir.logoheli.com ... very nice site and very very nice guy !!! we might even convinced him to put the French version of those tips and tricks on his site if there is enough French speaking people interested by the Maxir

Don't be sorry about your English , at least , you try !!! hehehehe this is how you will get better ... practice , practice , practice . I started speaking English two years ago and i think i go better and better each time . But i still shake each time i push the button "submit" ... never know what stupidity i wrote without knowing it !!!

Thanks, got the heli flying in Feb, site open in March I believe!

Yes I work closely with Russ. We've done quite a bit here.

The 'wiki' is open for everyone to post their opinions on. Feel free to use or add!

It's a great heli but needs a little word of mouth advertising. The last fun fly I was at, I tossed it around and it got some excellent attention... It sells itself..

Hi

to Rocheleaud:

As you have said, i didn't read all the topic, sorry , but i m the only one owner of maxir SE in france so when i can says anything about this heli, i said, and i newbee on this forum, i don't "know" all the member (quality, skills.....) here, sorry again.

Concerning skid, i used CA+ toilet paper ( try it, it is fantactic to repared something), i don't change it by new part, i m not crazy

I Have put some pict of my SE LE in my gallery.

to Pwkpete

A friend of mine who have got a maxir "standart" ( that i ve got now for stock part ) said to me than the kit need some improvement to run fine, like you said.

My SE needn't this work (but it was already semi assembled), only very very little adjust with the transmission, so i suppose they have improve their product...

Now i waiting for the Four blade , but why not bought a second SE in kit in RED..... difficult to choose...

Hi

To my mind: maxir / maxir SE for hard 3D flight.

If you want a scale model, so use the maxir4,it is not a 3D flight model.

Hornet are too fragile.
