EVO Newbie Heliman Location: Southampton, MA
| Absolutely!!!!
The heliopcter was found intact about 200ft out from the edge of the swamp.... distance can be deceiving.... Greg practically walked right out to it. He coldn't see it until it was about 3ft in front of him, lyingon it side.
Bent Flybar (of course) - (have a spare), broken landing gear (have a set of Tuff Struts to replace the stock ones, Recharging the battery... may replace the 1500 I have with a 2400 amyhow.
The failure was cause by the tail belt pulley teeth stripping completely smooth... I had just done work on the tail blades --- so had checked the tailboom and adjusted the tension on the tail belt... so I am at a loss for why the belt stripped the teeth. Just means I'll have to pay more attention to the tension....LOL.. Will replace the stock pulleys with aluminum once I can find the parts and order them.
Engine will need to be cleaned out a bit... Other than that... I should be back in the air in about a week or so.
A million thanks to Rob, Greg & hi son Peter and George St. Pierre for their time, effort and ideas which lead to the safe return of my 'loved one'.
