e-Robbe Eolo > Very strange thing with Spirit Pro LE building

Hi guys,

I 'm bulding my Spirit LE. I have complete the chassis, main rotor an tail rotor assembly.
Now, it's time to connect all parts together!

Yesterday, i started to assemble the tail drive shaft and the tail boom as explained into the notice. I fixed the tailboom to the chassis, and what a surpsise, the transmission shaft is too short ! ... I checked if the tail boom was correctly fitted into the chassis and it was!

So, i'm lost, the shaft is too short and i didn't found any extra parts, explanations about this problem....

Does anyone have encountered this problem???

Thanks

It’s not to short, i had the same problem with my standard eolo pro. The problem is that the boom is not pushed in at the chassis end enough. Mine needed a really firm push, which gave me the extra 5mm or so I needed.

Of course, there is always the possibility that it actually is too short but i would have thought that it was unlikely. Measure it and see

I really firmly pushed it into the chassis mount, it touch the black plastic mount, i don't think it can go further. I'll try again on this evening.

Thanks for your post psychopic.

I had to use the hammer to get the stupid boom inside enough on my le...
Just make sure you protect it from direct contact with the hammer.

My boom slid in with gentle force.
Have you checked matching of slot on boom and rib on main chassis?

Reefer,

I took care to this rib, it is fitted correctly. So, i think i will try (carrefully) with a hammer as iachia did.

I also had to use a hammer (using a small wood block to protect the boom) to locate the boom properly.
The shaft doesn't seem to engage into the input and output shafts by much and both I and my brother who has the same heli had a problem with the shaft disengaging. This never happened during flight but if you had a slightly harder landing than normal we noticed the shaft had disengaged on the next start up.
We fixed this by filing 2 millimeters off the end that slots into the chassis not forgetting to extend the locating slot also by 2 millimeters. Never had the problem again and both helis have been problem free ever since.

Build instruction ammendment

Test3,

When you put the transmission shaft assembly together did you include the two small plastic spacers (one either end) as well?

When I built my kit there was no mention of these additional parts in the main instruction text - only on a seperate small piece of paper stuffed in with all the other bumf, which I almost found too late!

Cheers,

Helen.

Judging by the date of his last post we must hope so, otherwise he has had no tail drive for the last 14 months

There was no mention of the rubber stoppers in my assembly instruction so we haven't put them in.
I have since installed the belt drive conversion but my brother is still flying with the shaft drive and has had no problems.

If... she... weighs...the same as a duck,... she's made of wood And therefore? A witch!
