i don't think anyone has really got a problem with that....

all you actually said was JK didn't want to make a V2.

i would assume that though.

Hello

Just wanting to comment on the whole not making a V2 kit. I dont think he ment that Jason didnt want to improve the heli after the first time around, but that he wants to come out with a heli that has no mechanical mistakes to begin with. An example of this would be the (Pred auto gear, MA Fury clutch stack[first generation...look for the threads there here], Pred carbon tail drive shaft, Fury carbon tail drive shaft, Vigor CS rotor head[the fly bar snapping thing...], ect. To me if he can pull this off cudos to him Todd and their team because theyll be one of the first to do it

i know exactly what he meant.

i wouldn't want to HAVE to come out with a V2 either.

The "real" test of any heli is to put it in the hands of the average pilot. Test Pilots flight test a design for it's intended purpose. We mortal average pilots make it do stuff it wasn't designed to do. That's when we find parts that can be improved on. There is absolutely no way a design team will figure out everything that "we" pilots will put it through in order to test it out for every situation. I am sure they have a great design and have tested to the best of their ability. That will ensure a pretty solid design. But to suggest that it won't have problems is just unrealistic in my humble opinion. Maybe I am underestimating JK and TB, but some pretty smart guys have been designing model helis for a long time and they are still learning every day that the designs they come up with can be improved upon.

Best of luck to them.

psawya is correct. JK and TB can test until they turn blue, they can put prototypes into the hands of a group of testers and they too can test until they're blue, but until the production machines are out in the hands of the average consumer they won't know what can go wrong.

I applaud the desire to get everything just right before releasing production models, but in the real world no amount of prototype testing will uncover everything that can go wrong.

Still, the harder they try to ferret out any problems in pre-production, the fewer real world issues should crop up. I'm happy to see that they're not in a hurry to get to market, I have a feeling the Synergy will be worth the wait.

Prototype testing

After owning a FURY myself, I appreciate the fact that they want to put a machine out that does not have to be "upgraded" every 2 months. I would assume there vast experience with that machine has made them leary of putting out an underdeveloped machine. I applaud the fact that they do not want to put out a "V2" as the MA machine must be on something like "V27". Be patient, it will get here when it gets here and no amount of complaining will make it happen any quicker. They have to take this from the ground up. They do not have a parts bin that they can just pull parts from. They have to set up contracts and/or equipment for every part on that machine. A daunting task to say the least. I hope that it is successful as they have gone to a lot of effort.

Be Fair

The Fury was a 60 powered model when originally designed and most of the "Vs" were to adapt to the added power of the 80s and 91s. Personally, I would rather update a model I recently bought than have to throw it away and buy V2. I applaud Jason and Todd for doing the R&D first and waiting for release until they are pretty darn sure it's going to work as advertised even though they are taking some (imho uninformed) heat for not rushing into production. If the final result is good, the wait will be worth it, if not, they should have tested more .
