Maxx / chris, don't use the Futura SE being discontinnued a reason to justify your buying a Furbe, Robbe will support the SE for years to come , just like they still support champions, scouts , and magics.

your not going to find a more durable , smoother flying ship than a SE, nova or milli.....

it's your choice...stop winning about it..

I am glad I got one when I did. I would have hated to miss out on this great heli! It will ultimately be nominated for the great heli hall of fame.

packing mistake

I to am very glad i got one and am in the process of building it, boy what a kit. Such quality parts, the packing of the box was questionable.
Witch brings me to the question of if robbe will give me another canopy
because mine was smashed due to the parts box not being taped shut. When i opened the box i found all the parts bags on top of the canopy.
I was able to push it out but it had a little stress mark on the wind screen. But still a very Very! good kit.

,thanks

What's this??? Can it be??? Say it ain't so!!!

Allen, I'll see old Chris at his fly-in coming up. I already told him he could fondle my 9Z (if he wears a bib). Give me time; I'll have him fully converted... and Ron Cosby will be next!

Jixxer,

It's funny you say that because as time has
marched on w/ the Robbe heli's, the packaging
has become more and more cheap.

In the old days, you got a styrofoam tray w/ all
the parts neatly laid out in their own compartments.

Then they saved $1 and went to a cardboard
sheet w/ 'wings' that captured some of the
nicer metal parts (bearing strips, head, pulley).

Now I see that they just throw all the crap in
a plastic bag and chuck it in the box.

Compound that w/ a completely MIA marketing
department, no real innovation in design,
questionable parts availability (booms anyone?) and reps bailing out.

chill out folks

Z11355 and chris,

parts for the SE WILL be supported for many more years to come,

the problem with the last shipment is that US government is tacking on a large tax on NON USA made bearings (to stop bearing dumping in the usa by the far east)and it is holding up shipments with bearings in them , I assure you HUI will clear this shipping problem up ASAP...and will continue to fill the parts pipeline as they have for many years. Paul is working hard to make sure parts supply is good in the USA ,

chill out dudes.. "Z"

I've got no issue w/ the parts supply. I'm sure
they will be available (but there have been
more than sporadic 'can't get part X').

My bigger issue is that Robbe jerked everyone
around for months and no one could get a
straight story.

Not to mention they nuke the one machine
that fits right in the sweet spot of the current
market.

Futura S/E

The parts will be available for a very long time, at least 10 year's or more the kits are not available but if you would like you can build a S/E from scratch with all the parts #s it will cost a fortune that way. There are kits still out there at a good price ($650 to $750 area. Competition & 3D wise its a great Heli, its a great all around Heli easy to build and work on. I use them in Scale body's and it fly's great in them.

z11355,
robbe's original story 6 months ago and still is the same story now
"the SE kit is dicontinued" ,
weather you like to go out and believe stories and rumors that others make up is your problem, the fact is that the SE is discontinued. the last 100 kit are being blown out at $650 after that that's it!

<<...get over it...>>

Well, that certainly is a fine attitude for a company representative to take. Here you have been championing the company, the distributor, the machine, etc., to the point of making some of us ill; yet when two level-headed (and loyal) customers voice irritation at a company policy decision, which might just happen to leave them with a difficult-to-repair model down the road, you tell them to go pound sand. Good job; you're a credit to Robbe, et. al. Irwin would be proud.

I've got a news flash for you, pal; a LOT of folks are mightily pissed off about this; even more so because they know the Germans don't care one way or the other. "Get over it" is something those hickory heads would say.

And here's another news flash; a lot of those same folks want absolutely nothing to do with a Millenium or Nova. They love their Futuras, but do not desire something that that doesn't do anything better and is more complicated.

And does Paul G have an in at Customs? Because if what you say is true, that's the ONLY way he's going to "clear up this shipping problem up ASAP." Actually, it will "clear up" when Customs gets good and ready to clear it up.

What a piece of work...

S/E's

Steve,
I know how you feel & reps can say things that can piss us off. There are probably a Million S/E's out there and some are in boxes and some were flown for a day or 2 and some are still being taken out of the ground and some are in someone's basement with dust on it. I bought a few that were at prices that were 1/2 of what they put into it (there loss my gain). I bought all mine used and there great and I got great deals on them and don't care to build a new one cause there's to much going on in my own life right now. Now if Robbe were to stop making parts for these S/E's that would be a terrible mistake on there part and they know it and everyone else knows it to cause then no one would have faith in Robbe to back up there Helis. And if you destroy it beyond repair and you cant locate a new one then there's the used one out there that will be just fine. I see Robbes view also they want people to try there new machines. Hey I also would like to buy 1969 or 1970 Dodge Charger with a Hemi I'm pissed I cant cause they stopped making them but I can buy a used one, life goes on. I'm going to keep my S/Es for as long as I can and now they seem a little bit more worthy and better to me then a week ago. I sold some S/E's that were mint with low time and I wish I keep them. I'm not letting the one's I have now go anytime soon. I do think you may see the S/E come back in a year or so if the out cry is strong enough that the Germans can hear us, keep or fingers crossed. Take care.

I hear you. I'm going through this who-has-the-parts? with my Concept. But that's my little "beater" ship. My big, expensive 60, which is my main "baby", is very much alive and well, with excellent support just a phone call away. Yeah, yeah, people keep using the Champion, etc., as examples of how Robbe supports discontinued designs. I guess we'll see...

But we weren't talking about me. I just had a bellyful of Mckoi's "everything is rosy" approach toward Robbe, HUI, et. al., and found it interesting to see how his proselytizing turned ugly when faced with criticism from other Robbe users.

I've been where Blair, z11355, and others are; in possession of a well-liked model helicopter who's future is very uncertain. I know what they're feeling. The last thing they need is some weisenheimer rep telling them to "get over it".

hey Steve,

I understand the frustration, because is it such a favorate ship of so many heli flyers for so many years, my self included I have been flying Futuras for more than 10 years, my first 60 was a futura gold, then converted it to a SE, at one point I had 4 SE's, Gas , 4stroke and 2 60's...the futura is one excellent ship. and I will miss it more than most will.

But Hey for what ever reason Robbe decided to discontinue it. it is discontinued.. time to move on!!!

The USA imported works hard to make sure all parts are avalable.
(Yes there is the occasional glitch and FU) but it is alot better than when pica had the distributership.
A. Parts support will continue as it has been over the last few years.
The SE is NOT going to be a difficult ship to repair down the road , Robbe is still importing part for ships they discontinued 10 years ago,
ie.Champion,Scott, Magic etc...) and will continue to support discontinued kits. not to mension the Futura SE shares 85% of its parts with the milli and Futura Nova..

any other concerns that I can help you guys with Robbe USA?

Steve/ PAL I don't appreciate you putting me in the same leage as Irwin,
that's a very low blow dude,
you don't know me from jack. anyone who knows me knows that I bend over backwards to help anyone anytime with any brand heli.
ask z11355.

I think "YOU" NEED TO GET OVER IT!!!
