I can move the blade grips in and out on the spindle shaft about 5 MM is this normal? I have looked over the manual several times and I think I have it put together right. I did hover it today and it did well but it does not seem right. Any body else have this also?

Make certain your "O" rings are installed in the head block and not in the blade grips. Early instructions showed the sequence of installing the plastic spacers and "O" rings in the wrong order and can leave things as you describe them. There should be no slop in this assembly in a lateral direction when correctly assembled.

I got the same problem with you. You must use "loc tite" to fix the bearing inside blade holder.

I must be missing somthing? I have the O rings in the head block but I can still move them. I checked the bolts on the spindle shaft and they are tight and also have thread locker on them. I will look at the instructions again but the way I have it is

Head block
O ring
plastic collar
blade grip
2 bearings
Washer
Bolt

Both sides are the same with spindle running threw it all and I can still move the grips in and out on the shaft. (not up and down)
To me it seems like the bearings are sliding in the blade grip back and forth.

I should read closer Chaisit, You ment loc tite on the out side of the bearings to make them stick to the blade grip. I missed that in the manual. I just reread your post after I posted mine and it hit me what you where saying Thank you

Is there a gifference between the blade grips on the original 450 and the upgrade bits for the 450x? Is this something to do with the slop?
just a thought

Only the blade grip ball links were changed in the 450x upgrade.

am I the only one who thinks loctite /glue on bearings is bad?? when i saw this is the manual i was kind of stunned they would have you add loctite to a bearing. maybe i'm over-reacting to this but I would think you could lock up the bearing if you happened to get loctite inside which is possible if you put too much.

Securing the outer race of the bearing is necessary. You are right that using too much Loctite or CA could be a bad thing. However, if you use the technique used by Hornet builders for years, you should not run into any problems. Apply the Loctite or CA with a straight pin. This allows very precise control over the amount of adhesive that is applied.
