one of the guys bought a 9c radio, hes new to heli's. he asked for help on throttle cut, he told me when he hit throttle cut it went to full throttle, so i checked it out and it did. i put the stick to about 10 % THROTLLE AND IT SAYS 90%, I GOTO HIS THROTTLE CURVE AND IDLE POSITION 1 IS AT POINT 5, ITS BACKWARDS, WIRED BACKWARDS I GUESS. HAS ANYONE EVER SEEN THIS PROBLEM BEFORE?

I have not seen this myself but I do have some hints for you. I noticed that there are two ways of reversing the throttle servo, on the 9C. The first method is where the rest of the servo reverse settings are, and the second method is in some special screen. I wish I had more details for you, but I suggest trying to reverse it in the "special" screen. Ah, more details have returned to my mind. I believe its in the same screen where you change scary things like swashplate type, etc. To me, throttle reversal is a scary thing, I'm sure you can understand why. Try reversing it there and see if the curve works better. I think I had to reverse it for my Sceadu.

The "special screen" only reverses whether the throttle trim is active at low throttle or high throttle. It sounds to me like he just needs to reverse his throttle servo or change a + to a - in the throttle cut screen. Be sure to set up the cutoff point where the throttle cut is no longer active above say 20% throttle also.

reversing the throttle doesnt solve it. at low stick it is at point 5 on the curves. i'll try the swash type, it is in sw1 now,

Swash type has nothing to do with throttle... I would not change that.

david
thanks david, i tried it on mine and thats is the problem. i am sure he will be happy about that, thought he was going to have to return for repairs...
is their any other menus that are not in the instruction manual?
also, my 9c manual was not a book but a bunch of pages that were loose, no binding, but had hole punches for a folder, will futaba send me a binded one?

Futaba did that purposley so you could put it in a binder and make adding addendums easier. I believe I saw somewhere a post stating that Futaba will send you a bound manual if you send them the unbound one.

also, can you use throttle pmixes without binding servos, ail, ele to throttle. i am using 30 % on ail to throttle ele to throttle, but it binds my throttle servo at full collectives.

FF9 Throttle Cut

Hi Novaman,

I assume that when you are talking about percentage ratings, specifically those set in the rate section of the throttle cut screen on the TX that you are in fact refering to negative numbers, not positive !!

My throttle cut on the Raptor 30 works just fine and I have the following settings in my TX throttle cut screen;

MIX: OFF
RATE: -15%
THR: 0%
SW: H
POSI: DOWN

I hope this helps.

Cheers,

Peter.

Reversing the throttle stick direction IS covered in the 9C manual, but it is covered in the servo reversing area of the manual. (I LOVE having the glossary with page references to find things like this! look for THR REV in your manual's glossary.) I will have an addendum page posted promptly which covers this also in the throttle cut/idle down segment of the manual.

This feature is available for folks using throttle for other purposes, such as battlebots, where they want the throttle trim capability at top stick not bottom. It should have been set properly from default, but may not have been, or your friend may have "accidentally" changed it.

The only 'hidden' menu is this one -- which changes mode and throttle stick direction.

The manual is intentionally looseleaf to allow you to make copies for safe keeping, to insert updated pages, to make it easier to store in whatever manner works best for you, to be able to take only the few pages you feel you will need with you, etc.

Why doesn't Futaba make the full updated manual available in .pdf format for download so that we can print it out ourselves. I have the bound manual myself and would like to have the loose version. Problem is I don't care to be without my current manual while waiting for the new one to arrive.

Thanks,
Joe

Joe,
The 9C area of the web site is being redesigned, but unfortunately has been delayed. When it is completed, the last step of the process will be to get the manual PDFd and posted.
