ok, well i finally decided to go for it and repaint my shuttle canopy. I originally sanded it, then wet-sanded it, then fine sanded it. then gave it some orange paint. sanded again. over and over, painting and sanding like 2-3 times. then i found i didn't have a clear coater, so i dropped it. now I'm back with that same neon orange paint, and also white and red, and clear. Here are some pics - i did this just about an hour ago in my garage.

It is slightly more neon than that - the electronic exposure isn't that accurate.

So, should i put white in the front, red on bottom? Maybe drop red spots on the back and turn it down wards so it makes teardrop-like things on the side? I dunno. This is my first real multi-color paint job. Anything can be redone with just some sanding Any ideas?

Hey Mop.
I have that same steam engine. At first it was running kinda ruff but after it broke in it's really smooth. I have it in a Midwest Elliot Bay Steam Launch boat and it glides on smooth water really nice.

Cool! I honestly decided to drop it after finding that my tries and worries with wood simply led to utter failure within step 3 in the manual. BTW, my engine runs relatively great, but the main rotating shaft is bent and we don't know how to get the JB weld off. It's a really great attraction. But I think I'll stick with nitros.

Hey SENECA, from the picture i think you would shed a tear on the heli instead. Those fades you have are very simple, but are sooooo effective! I mean, they look stunning! What paints did you use?
BTW, where can you get a sticker of the cool little "vent" on the bottom of the canopy?

The vent sticker is the stock sticker that comes on the decal sheet.

hmmm... i never even noticed the decal sheet...

BTW, now that i look back on the orange canopy pics, i'd have to say it looks better in solid orange.... time to start sanding....

Hey Mop

Why did't you go ahead and do a orange racing stripe down the side of that BMW?
Just for kicks.
