Well , I put my JR Venture back in the air last night. I tried my first ever Auto's last Monday and did one fine, but hit the ground too hard on the second one, caused a boom strike.

Anyway, I had an all metal swash plate setting at home off an Ergo 46 3d. I acquired it in a bag of parts I gave some guy $100 for last year. This thing is solid aluminum, 120'CCPM swash, very nice looking and solid as a rock, I have no idea what it cost new but it sure looks pricy.

The heli performed very well, those things you do where your at a hover and flip the heli for or aft 360', I don't know what those are called or may be it's just a tight loop, hell I don't know. But it did those very nicely, just flipped right over, very quickly.

I have now used two parts out of that bag of parts on my Venture, I have the metal motor mount, and now the metal swash plate.

One thing though, I think my OS 32 is running toooo HOT. It seems to start loosing power after a few minutes in idle up. I've read the threads here and a few other web sites about how to keep the engine running cooler but so far no luck.

I too have experienced the same problem in idle up. I know that I am running rich in normal mode. I have a smoke trail equal to a 60 size! But after a minute or two in idle up, it gets extremely hot and looses power and I land ASAP. My setup is -4, 7, +10 in normal and -10. 0. +10 in idle up. Forward flight is at full throttle. I have been to the http://www.ronlund.com and read the review under news then JR News by Jeff Ashe and I have seen the same problems. I did though swap the paddles from the supplied 3d paddles to 30 size raptor paddles and that stopped the pithching up I had in forward flight. It is easier than sanding the 3d paddles to blunt edges, snipping corners, etc. I think while this bird flies great in normal mode, a 50 might make this an extremely fun chopper. This is my opinion only.

I also had the pitchy problem with the 3d blades. I just took an 80grit sand block dulled the leading edge down. Now it stays where ever I put it in forward flight. Very big difference.

As for the engine heat issue, I'm still working on that one. I have richened up the high and low speed needles but it still runs hot in Idle up. I've decided I just don't care, I'm going to fly it until the engine melts or until my tinkering solves the problem. The engine has not failed it just runs a little weaker, I need practice with auto's anyway. I just hope when ( if ) it goes South on me I have enough altitude for an auto.

Good Luck
