Has anyone used the 60 tooth secondary gear? If so, what head speeds did you get? Did you have any trouble installing the gear due to its increased diameter?
Thanks

l have the 60 tooth sec. gear installed on one of mine for about 2 months now I really like the feel of this setup
I had to put 2 washers under my battery carbon plates so the gear didn't rub on the lipos but other then that all was easy

I am running MAH G2 700mm main blades. I am going to try some SAB 710 soon. I don't know what my headspeed is I would guess it dropped about 300 but I don't know
I hope that helps, let me know if I can help with anything else

I have the 60T as well and it flies very nice. I'm running SAB 710s/180g blade weight and it flips quite quickly. The auto performance suffers a bit compared to my Expert with SAB 680s. It runs cool and whenever I can run a cooler electric heli, I know everything will last longer. My kit was shipped with a 52T gear and it ran VERY hot. I'm going to experiment with a 55T later on during the cool season.

Beginning of the flight, the headspeed is 1850 and at the end, it is 1675.

I doubled up the velcro on the batteries to keep them from touching the secondary gear, and it has shown no problems.

Thanks for the replies. I am more of a sport flier and don't like the high headspeed.

55T is good

I am flying the 55T here now and it works great.
Motor/ESC/Batts never get hot. In fact my batts hardly come up to temp.
The OAT is usually around 60 here, but I flew it in 80 deg and it was still fine.
Headspeed is nice for 3D with that gear.

Anybody have a spare 60T they want to sell. I am in need of one.

Two brands

I was running the Mavrikk 700's, but they were a bit on the "soft" side for me. Really flexy and noisy.

I am currently running a set of RotorTech 700's and I really noticed the difference. Much smoother and seem to be very solid feeling.
Basic 3D seems to be fine with them and the roll rate is predictable and precise.
Not quite the feel of the V'blades on my Extreme, but good none the less.

Next is a set of SAB 700's per Chris at MA's recomendation. He says they are really good along with the MAH G2 Dual tapers.

So many blades so little time.

"Next is a set of SAB 700's per Chris at MA's recomendation."

Sorry, did'nt mean to be mis-leading there. What I meant to say was the TG 690 "All round 3D" blade. Which is a 690mm tapered blade similar to the MAH G-2 blade except it runs a good bit quieter going through maneuvers.

The SAB's only come in 680 and 710mm. The SAB 680 is a good choice for the Ion-X. But the machine really prefers a 700mm bladed disk.

Ooopss

My bad. Thanks for catching it Chris...

We talked about so many things it seems.

If you want the straight scoop and answers to ANYTHING regarding the ION. Chris is the man IMO.

In 10 minutes he wiped out 3 or 4 gear ratios that will get the results I want.

Secondary gear 124-60

Does anyone know where to get a 60 tooth secondary gear? My buddy says no stock at Miniature and they may not order another run. Anybody got a spare they would part with?
