| My Align is here!I ordered a new Align 400 2800KV brushless motor from a trader by the name of "e.powerjet" on eBay.
It cost $38 and was sent with FREE shipping - from Taiwan! The auction was ended with a "Buy it Now" on 9th, paid for immediately, and arrived this morning. So the whole process took exactly a week. I reckon that's excellent.
As with the heli kit, the motor is packaged beautifully in a foam-lined, factory sealed perspex box. It includes a set of gold bullet-connectors and colour-coded heat-shrink lengths in a little zip-lock bag. A spec sheet is included, but that seems to be in Taiwanese - oh well!
As for the finish of the motor, it's far better than you might expect from something so economically priced. It has four screw mounting holes, so if you strip a thread then you can just turn it through 90 degrees. The motor's end-cans are gold coloured with cooling holes, and the main body is finished in a sort of gun-metal colour with a gold Align sticker. You can see the neodym magnets turning through the holes, but it's aggressively notchy, like a little ratchet. This baby is going to have some serious power! Finally, it has 2" long wires, colour-coded (same as the heat-shrink) with pre-soldered ends.
You wouldn't think that a person could say THAT much about a motor, and I haven't even tried it yet! But if it goes as well as it looks, then my little T-Rex is gonna, erm, fly!
As a footnote, I can also recommend a trader by the name of "911heroes" who I bought 2 T-Rexes from in the first place. He's also in Taiwan and gave me and a friend great service.
