Ok I am in the market for a new 30....not a 50 a 30!! I have looked at the three most available models to me and have narrowed it down to the Sceadu 30, Raptor 30, or the Hawk 4. Now I know that the Raptor has many problems but the parts are real easy to get and very cheap! The Hawk to me looks flimsy and cheap...looks? I see that the hawk also only comes with 31 bearings. Now the tried and true Hirobo looks like a great heli! How many bearings does it come with? The biggest problem I see right now is the fact that parts are hard to come by. They don't even make crash kits yet! The heli is also high priced for a plastic 30! Are the blade grips the same as the ZXX? On average are the price of parts comparable to the Raptor? I really hate TT in every way but many guys I know fly the Raptor anf know all the ins and outs of the heli which is a plus. I am really up in the air right now with which 30 to buy and every time I think I know which one I want I see posts that change my mind.......This part of the sport is killing me!!

Ah the choices

I've had both the Raptor and the Sceadu, they fly somewhat the same, the Sceadu might hover a little better (subjective). Local parts and support should be given some thought, my advice after you select your heli, talk to your LHS and ask them to stock your parts. Now 'look into my eyes, you are getting sleepy', oh, that won't work online. I'm flying a Sceadu now and really do like it, it's had a few issues that were caused by yours truely. I see the Sceadu as having a few built in upgrades so you can fly it for a very long time completely stock. This speaks volumes for the overall design, and the support from Altech is very good, you can always call and discuss your issues and get immediate results.

Raydee,

IMO, you have the best problem in the world. Choosing I know is agony, but the joy of getting another heli is definetely worth it. I wish I could add another heli to my stable.

Sceadu 30

As far as getting parts for a sceadu 30 they do have a crash kit available from hirobo. The kit comes with a order form to mail directly to hirobo and for $54.90 after shipping I got a factory crash kit. Don't know how it flies yet as it's kinda cold in Alaska right now, todays high was around 5. But I am looking forward to my first flight with it, and my first flight period on a heli for that matter.
