Hi,

Anyone know of somewhere, where I can send a canopy plan I made with 3DSM6 (could also convert it to ACAD 2005) so they can mold it in plastic for a reasonnable price?

I also recreated my Dragonfly on 3DSM6 and I'm thinking of ways to make some parts lighter and stronger. I can make all the drawings but I'm not equiped with any CNC/CAM hardware to render those in reality... Only plastic parts there, no aluminium/titanium or expensive materials. Cheap can be strong

Oh, and by the way if you are interested in my Dragonfly file, I can share it, trade it, whatever.

Thanks

Nice but they dont do into plastics I think... I'm now making a nice Canopy, kind of like the Bell 222 with custom adjustments and add-on. I would like to get it in a plastic shell instead of the Daulphin like foam shell...

But I'll look at this site further for other pieces maybe.

thanks

One or two custom canopies does NOT equal reasonable price!

Search for local plastic molders, injectors and fabricators. If they can't personally help you, they can give you guidance.

Approach them professionally and you will get better results. Not like, I have this toy helicopter canopy that I want to make....only 1....for fun..... Talk about prototyping and possible quantities if there are price breaks. Have a detailed drawing available for fax so they can quote on it or at least to help them to understand what you are trying to accomplish.

You might even want to try making it yourself? Good challange. Make a 2 piece balsa plug and make the canopy out of fiberglass.

Good luck.
