I have some DV from the MHA fun fly and am trying out the Adobe Premiere 6.0 software. You use a Fire Wire interface and in the program you tell it what kind of camera you have, make and model. Pull down menus let you choose your download resolution, frames per second, ect, and then you just play the video while recording to your harddrive. Uncompressed a 640 x 480 at 29 frames a second DV video eats a lot of harddrive space. 10 minutes takes about 2.2GB. You then can compress to Quicktime. I think other software is available as the cost for Adobe is high but have not spent time looking for alternatives. I have heard the Adobe product hard to use but I find it easy for what I’m doing at this time.
Rob,
My DVD's on order, I can’t wait. I was recording Henry at the same time you were so I'm interested in seeing how they compare. Although, I don't think I did a good job of keeping up with all his fast moves.
