Killer DVD Rob!

Great job!

I like all the suttle editing you did through out, and the base filming was very good. Not everyone can follow a 3D heli with a camera real well, I think you even kept up with Henry!

Let me know if you do any more... will you be going to IRCHA?

Jeff

PS: It did only take 4 days for it to get to me..

Thanks Hitch-Hiker,

I'm not sure which events I will be able to shoot, depends on how many free airline tickets I can get. The next upgrade to the videos will be an improved microphone.

Assuming the next event I do has good flyers, the video should be excelent.

Thanks agin.

hey rgunther, i think the featured piolet (piolets). should have been paid or asked permission to be in the video that your selling, i was there at the mah ff and i saw you tape'n..... i think its just right as a upright human being that the piolets that you are make'n money off of should have been told or compensaded.......i know h.c. and he's been
flying for a while, and in my opinion he's amoung the top 5 or 10 in the
u.s. there were other peple video tape'n but no one else is selling the tape on line without their permission. so I think the ball is in your court, please make this right. just pay a little respect......for the whole rc helicopter community

Hitmaker,

I did ask the featured guys if they would mind being on a video that I was making, they even did a little interview introducing themselves.

It would be nice to pay everyone to be in the video, however I am selling the videos at my cost of the tapes/dvd blanks here in Canada. Not to mention the cost to travel & stay to tape the guys.

I am producing the tapes to hopefully further the sport by allowing more people to see heli flying, thus selling the videos at as low a cost as I can produce them on a small scale.

If any featured guys have a problem with the end result, let me know and I will cut their footage out of the video.

A DVD-R still cost about 18-20 bucks here in the states! I thought 13 dollars for the DVD was a great deal! I even got some tape time on the video and was listed as a featured 3D pilot. Wow was I happy about that!

I ordered 2 DVD's from Rob and was happy to pay him for them. Rob did ask my permission for the use of the flying footage he took of me. In my book, He did everything right, He did a great job of filming, And gave us all his hard work in making the video for free!

Yes there are some people on the net that are going to events, making mig shift tapes, then profiting off them on the net without the pilots concent. This is not the case here with Rob.

DVD-R blanks

Jeff, if you are paying that much for blank DVD's, you're getting ripped off. I get mine from americal.com for less than $2.00 each.

I have some DV from the MHA fun fly and am trying out the Adobe Premiere 6.0 software. You use a Fire Wire interface and in the program you tell it what kind of camera you have, make and model. Pull down menus let you choose your download resolution, frames per second, ect, and then you just play the video while recording to your harddrive. Uncompressed a 640 x 480 at 29 frames a second DV video eats a lot of harddrive space. 10 minutes takes about 2.2GB. You then can compress to Quicktime. I think other software is available as the cost for Adobe is high but have not spent time looking for alternatives. I have heard the Adobe product hard to use but I find it easy for what I’m doing at this time.

Rob,

My DVD's on order, I can’t wait. I was recording Henry at the same time you were so I'm interested in seeing how they compare. Although, I don't think I did a good job of keeping up with all his fast moves.
