okay, install everthing as it is going to be. if the fuse is not yet painted, and you have a muffler that points down,like on a shuttle or nexus, then u should be able to see where the outlet is thru the translucent fiberglass. mark it with a pencil (sand the area lightly if the pencil wont make a mark) and then remove the machine and use a dremel with one of those pointy stone bits and cut the hole.
now if the fuse is already painted, then u will have to try and mark the exhaust outlet from the inside with the pencil. if you have one of those mufflers that goes straight back( like century's torpedo muffler) then a deflector(dubro or hobbico) will have to be used. it takes a bit of measuring, trial and error, and a fair share of cussing to get this right. the scale mufflers are only needed if the stock one wont work. those things do get a bit expen$$ive. they also make it tough to get to the low end needle in the occasion u need to adjust it.. well i hope all this helps.
