why not use Pro Engineer. you can get a student package for like $200 and it is 100X better then Autocad...

I have used Autocad, enovia (Catia 5), cadra, Uni-Graphics & Pro Engineer and so far, Autocad is at the bottom.

Thanks

AutCAD 2002 was the first program I learned and I really did not like it. The only thing I liked about it was the properties window. But if you still insist on using it you can usually buy the student versions(mostly if its not for buisness use) for like $100. Probably even than that now. And as always you can always check good ol ebay.
